Over a year now since Fudge came to stay, and what a lively – and lovely – year it has been. He is such a loving boy, and so wonderful with our 3.5 year old grand-daughter. She adores her Fudgidog, as she calls him. Georgia loves taking him for a walk with her own short lead, while a grown-up is taking the strain on the proper lead, otherwise Georgia would be dragged through the mud at 90mph.
His bed-time routine is interesting. After a turn round the garden, he comes into the kitchen and sits on my feet while I tickle his chin for at least ten minutes. When he’s decided he’s had enough fuss, he gets into his crate, has a good-night treat, then it’s lights out.
However, he is the most dreadful thief, and because he is so tall, he can reach just about anywhere on a work-top in the kitchen. We sometimes wonder if he can actually levitate.
When Fudge had his boosters, the vet was really pleased with his condition and weight. We have got a tranquilliser from the vet for the New Year fireworks – they drive him into a total barking frenzy, very worrying to see, and awful to feel his heart pounding so hard. Strangely enough, when we take him to Andy’s clay pigeon shooting club, he not the least bit bothered by the noise. We have got the fireworks acclimatisation CD, but that’s a fairly long-term project.
All in all, Fudge is a wonderful boy, if a very busy one ! We’ll send you some photos – when we can get him to stay still for long enough, otherwise all you’ll see will be a brown blob asleep on the sofa.
Thank you so much for letting us have Fudge. All very best wishes to you and all at Caessr for 2018. Sheila and Andy
Just to let you know that I've settled in really well in my new forever home. I love playing and running around with my new sister, Misty, (also a Caessr dog), who tells me off if I get too boisterous! I have lovely countryside walks each day and have especially enjoyed the snow we've had. I'm looking forward to Christmas and even have my own stocking which is full of lovely things (I hope!). I've attached some photos of me in my new home and hope that all the other Spaniels soon find their new forever homes and have a great Christmas.
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to all at Caessr
Woof!, Bailey and Misty???????
Good morning Di, Ian and John
Thank you to all the people involved with CAESSR for our new pal. Jak has instantly become a member of the family, he is getting on really well with Charlie, our other springer who is a year older. We think Jak has some Setter blood in him too, our vet fell in love with him when she checked him over, she gave him a clean bill of health apart from some red patches on his legs which she thinks is from over-licking with boredom in the kennels, quite normal. We have some cortisone cream for him.
They have had a great run on our local beach and been playing together in the house and garden. We thought Charlie was a softie (scared of his own shadows) but it seems Jak is just the same. He will be meeting our daughter's 2 German Shorthaired Pointers this afternoon, more pals.
Happy Christmas to everybody.
I thought you might like an update on Rommie [Romulous] who we got from you in May 2014, see attached recent photo. He's in very good health and very happy, gets on great with other dogs and loves our long walks.
We would like to get him a companion, another Cocker would be ideal. We would need a bitch, preferably 5 - 8 years old who would be happy living with another dog. If you get a dog that might be suitable would you perhaps let me know.
We re homed Stan in September and are really delighted.
He is settling in well and very much a part of the family. We still have a few minor issues but nothing we can’t cope with.
He learns really quickly and is very loving. He has excellent recall and enjoys his walks. He hasn’t replaced our last spaniel (they are all so special ) but is so different from him that he has made his own unique place in our hearts. We feel so lucky to have him and I think he feels lucky to have found us.
Thank you for providing an opportunity for us to welcome him into our home.
Keep up the good work!
Both Rachel and I would like to wish you a great Christmas.

Hi Di and Ian.
Hope you are well. This is me at a lovely hotel having afternoon tea (rather mum and dad were). All the staff made a big fuss of me and commented how well behaved I was. Also enjoying first snow this year. This will be my third Christmas with my new mum and dad. Life is very busy, fun and comfortable. It’s nice to see other Spaniels also finding lovely homes.
Thank you both,John also, for all you do.
Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2018,
Belle, Ros and Brian.
