Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Monty is a 5 year old chocolate working type cocker. His owners both work full time after a career change and the neighbours are complaining about his barking. Monty is a very playful and energetic dog. He lives with another dog but he is a bit food aggressive and pushes her out of the way to get to food. He lives with older children and with a cat. He walks well on a lead and his owners use a harness. Monty's recall will need to be trained. He is OK in the car but is not a fan of travelling.
Ruby is a 9 year old liver & white springer. She needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. Ruby is a lovely gentle dog who is used to children. She lives with a cat and another dog. She can be a little wary of some other dogs she meets. Ruby is a little overweight. She pulls a bit on the lead initially but soon calms down and walks nicely. She hasn't been off-lead recently. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Sweep is about 11 years old and is a black & white show type cocker. He is urgently looking for a permanent retirement home with help from CAESSR with any medical needs that he may have going forward. He is a very friendly boy in kennels and enjoys being walked and groomed by the dog walkers and kennel staff. He loves his walks but needs to be kept on the lead as he is possibly deaf. He has had some teeth removed and his ears thoroughly cleaned. Sweep would possibly be best as the only pet as he is very needy. We think that he has had a hard life and may have separation anxiety issues but he is a really lovely boy.
Chester is a 4 year old black working type cocker. He needs a new home as his owners are separating and neither of them can look after Chester going forward. Chester would be best homed where there are no visiting young children. He is OK with teenagers. He is well socialized with other dogs but can be quite assertive with younger dogs. He is used to living as the only pet in the home. He will chase cats. He has been walked near sheep and horses. He tends to pull on the lead but is walked on a harness. Chester is used to being walked in a pack of dogs by the dog walker who lets him run off-lead. However, his owners tend to keep him on his lead. He travels well in the car - he has a dog harness attached to a seat belt. He doesn't really like being left home alone but is left a couple of hours in his crate.
Posie is an 8 month old black working type cocker with some white markings. Both of her owners work full time and although Posie gets 3 walks a day, they feel that they are not giving her the company and time that she deserves. She is a lively puppy who is used to children and is good with other dogs. She has been to puppy socialisation classes. She pulls on the lead but does know how to walk nicely. Her recall training is going well. She travels well in the car.
Winston is a 21 month old chocolate working type cocker. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. He is a lovely friendly dog who is good with other dogs but has no cat experience. He has met children but has not lived with them. Winston is always ready to play and does everything at 100 miles an hour! He needs a family who can give him some training and lots of activity. He pulls on the lead. He will return when off-lead if you have a treat in your pocket. He travels well in the car. He still chews things when left home alone. He is used to sleeping in the hall-way.
Winston needs someone who is willing to start his training from scratch.
Pip and Milo are 18 month old black working type cockers who are litter sister and brother. They need a new home together. Their home is a very busy one with five children all persueing their different interests and hobbies and their Mum works long hours, leaving the dogs home alone in the conservatory. They are a little anxious when left home alone. Pip and Milo are amazing with children. Milo is very hyper-active and is a bit shy of other dogs. They are used to living with a cat. They pull a bit on the lead and they have a normal lead split for two dogs. Their recall is very good. They travel very well in the car.
Miller is a 2 year old liver & white springer spaniel. He needs a new home as his owners have a newborn baby and cannot give him the time that he needs. Miller is a friendly boy who is used to older children and is good with other dogs. He can pull on the lead. He is brilliant off the lead. He travels well in the car and can be left home alone just for short periods.
