Sadly I have to tell you, that Molly, a Springer bitch which we rescued from your centre on April 30th. 2015, has had to be put to sleep.

When we got her, she had a scare, and a bony lump on the back of her neck,, and we always laughed at the way she walked, looking like a model from the back.

Over the past year, her back legs got weaker, and we often wondered if there was nerve damage, but she always wanted to go out for walks, though towards the end, would stumble on rough ground, and sometimes had to have help to get out of ruts. once on her legs, she plodded along and looked as though she could go on all day.

On 23rd. September, when Michael got up, he found that even with help, Molly couldn't stand to go outside, and we knew the end had come. She had been out in the fields the day before.

We have never had dogs on laps or furniture, but Molly had been with us for almost a year, when one day, she slowly crawled onto my lap, and perched on the end of my knees. I hadn't the heart to push her off, and over time, she relaxed, until she would climb up, and lie like a baby in my arms.

Molly the sixth and last Springer we have rescued, would have been fifteen in December, and was. probably the craziest of them all. A party trick was to carry two tennis balls in her mouth.

We still have a rescued fifteen and a half Springer Spaniel, and it was a toss up which one would go first.

Our regret is that we are now too old to do any further rescuing, as Michael can only walk very short distances, and I am only able to keep up with very old dogs.

Thank you so much for providing us with such a funny, and lovely little dog. Everyone loved her.

Margaret and Michael
