Hi John and team.
We realised the other day that we have had Bella for 10 years! Can't quite believe it. So thought it was time for a catch up! She is 14 this year but doesn't look any older, she is a bit slower and has a mild heart murmur but the vet says it's nothing to worry about. She is such a sweet girl. She can still manage long walks and then loves chilling on our bed! And then of course there's Tammy! She settled in really well once she realised that Bella was top dog! She makes us laugh every day! They both love a play fight, usually instigated by Bella!
We wouldn't be without either of them.
Thank you so much
Kath and Martin.
I hope all well with you.
Just wanted to update you on Mollie: she is now completely settled in, still slightly nervous but no recent displays of behavioural problems and it has been lovely to see her recently feel relaxed enough to just start rolling and playing by herself. She remains very close to our other spaniel but is now also ok with other dogs too. We had her spayed a few weeks ago as agreed, the delay due to a combination of her season timings and that she used to be a nervous wreck at the vet’s.
You mentioned in your last email that you would mark her as adopted and I confirm that we are happy to keep her and she is now a part of the family. Lockdown has, I think, been a great boost for her as there have been plenty of us here to give her attention and lots of exercise!
Now that she is settled, I can consider restarting with fostering other dogs again. Do not hesitate to contact me if there are any dogs that need temporary help or a new home.
Hi Ian and Di,
If you can encourage your supporters to take a look at LV insurance (other insurers are available) they give very generous donations to CAESSR through easyfunding.
I am pleased to tell you that little Rosie from Cairo and big Mylo from Uttoxeter are both in the best of health. I don't know which one of them I love the most. Two totally different characters who get along famously. Mylo is developing the character that I think he was denied in his previous life. His initial hair loss, poor eye health and enormous thirst just turned out to be neglect and he is now shiny and sweet. Rosie is just the most happy, loving and intelligent girl we have ever had. She is best kept away from estate agents and small children however as she is a bit of a snapper.
Hope you are both well and be assured that we remain great supporters of the great work you do,
Kay and Kevin
Hi Ian & Di
I don't have any up-to-date photos of Rolo and not sure if I have sent these before.
Rolo is fine, he loves to go out on our narrowboat - and run through the woods. He has put some weight on due to the pandemic - not being able to use our boat. He goes everywhere with us - as he doesn't like being on his own.
It has been a very quiet year, we went to our holiday home in Norfolk at the start of the national problems, and we all looked forward to a good summer at the coast.
We had been there for four days and they told us we must leave due to national lockdown.
Unfortunately in May we lost Molly suddenly which left Bailey on his own. In June we got to Norfolk and did some walking and playing on the beach but Restrictions made it difficult.
In November we started a long term foster for two old boys who had been abandoned in Spain (via Save Our Spaniel’s).
Argo is 16 years old & Gordi is 15 years old, Bailey is the young whippersnapper.
Anyway let us hope 2021 improves and we can get back to some sort of normality.
Just for information you will be pleased to know that since Bailey has been with us he has shown no signs of skin irritation or arthritis and he has been taken of the medication, which is a good result.
That’s all for now L.O.L.
Dear Di, Ian & John
Benson is a wonderful dog. He loves to walk and we let him pick his route some days as he has very definite ideas about where he wants to go - the wettest and muddiest routes possible.
He does enjoy a good sunbathing session or snuggling up on the sofas or beds. He loves being around the children so has enjoyed the latest lockdown and the additional food opportunities it presents.
He does seem to think he is a lap dog and will be up on my knee in a flash if I sit down.
We love the beastie.
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to have such spaniel joy in our lives.
Elise and Duncan.
