Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Hector is a seven month old blue roan working type cocker spaniel. His owners have had a number of spaniels over the years but Hector needs more time than they can give due to work and personal issues. Hector is used to their visiting young grandchildren and he is good with other dogs but hasn't lived with a cat. He is getting better when walking on lead. He will recall to his name and to a whistle when on a long training lead. He travels well in the car.
Diego is a 6 year old golden working type cocker. He is a large cocker, possibly a field spaniel. Three years ago, Diego was attacked by another dog when on lead - so he can be wary of some other dogs. His owner also worries about walking him as she has had brain surgery and Diego is protective of her. Diego's owner feels that he would be better with new owners. He hasn't met children and hasn't lived with a cat. He pulls a bit on the lead. He is great off lead and has excellent recall. He chases his ball and likes to swim. In the home he can open doors but can be left home alone for an hour or two. He travels well in the car but likes to be in his crate. Diego can be quite a challenging dog. He doesn't like his back legs being groomed. He behaves best with instruction from a firm male voice. He is a very intelligent dog.
Banksy is a 3 1/2 year old springer spaniel. She needs a new home as the owners have a toddler and Banksy is growling at the toddler and is grabbing and possessing the toddler's soft toys. The owners are worried that the child will get hurt. Banksy is very good with the five year old daughter. She is good with other dogs but has no cat experience. Our team at kennels have been working hard with Banksy as she is not good on or off the lead. She pulls a lot and is best walked on a harness. She has a very high prey drive and doesn't listen to commands. She sleeps downstairs usually in the corner of the sofa or along the top of it and loves to lie on the window ledge. She travels well in the car and can be left home alone for an hour or two.
Banksy has a slight hip problem that is spasmodic This has been investigated by our vet.
Tilly is an 11 year old liver & white springer. She has come to CAESSR via the local dogs home. Her owner is poorly and can no longer look after her. Tilly is a very friendly dog who is good around other dogs. She needed dental surgery prior to re-homing.
