Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

COCO

COCO

Coco is a 6 year old liver & white springer. His owner now has a back injury and is unable to give Coco the exercise that he needs. He pulls on the lead and is best walked using a harness. He has been off lead to run on the beach and returns when called. However, the owner says he shadow chases - he possibly watches the seagulls. The owner says he also shadow chases in the kitchen. He is a clever dog and can open doors. He can be left home alone for short periods and he travels well in the car.

Since being in our care Coco has really increased in confidence. Our volunteers have spent lots of time with him on a one to one basis doing fun activities to stretch his brain and his paws. He enjoys searching for treats and adores having his tummy tickled! He is slowly getting better on lead, and has had great fun at a secure dog field. Having lots of stimulus and exercise, plus being recently castrated has all contributed to Coco being a very happy Spaniel, and we have not witnessed him shadow chasing at all. He is happy if there are other dogs around on lead, but a distance between dogs is still advised. For this reason we conclude that he should be an only dog with an experienced Springer owner who has the time and energy to continue his training. He is a strong boy with lots of energy to burn, but he has shown that he is an intelligent and loving boy.

HENNA

HENNA

Henna is a beautiful three and a half year old liver and white English Springer Spaniel with a fully docked tail. A substantial change in family circumstances meant that Henna was living in a kennel in the garden and not receiving any exercise or human interaction. Despite this she has retained her love of dog toys and is an affectionate young dog. Henna is a dream during car journeys, she is used to being around other dogs, and is a typically happy and bouncy spaniel. She can be a little unsure of new people at first, but this is quickly overcome with a treat. Henna is a tiny bit over weight (about one and a half kilos) and is due to be spayed by our vets soon. We would love for her to be able to recuperate from her operation in comfort, curled up on the sofa in her forever home. Is your sofa the one for Henna?
