Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Ben is a lovely 7 year old Liver and White Springer, who needs a new home as his owner has become ill and can no longer care for him. Ben is used to children of all ages and is good with other dogs and cats. He has been walked near livestock on a lead. He pulls initially, on the lead, with excitement and is then quite good and he has a good recall. Ben loves to play with a ball and loves travelling in the car.
Jessie is a 2 year old Black and White Springer Spaniel. She has had two homes already and needs to leave the second as her owner works very long hours. She is house trained and sleeps inside. Jessie is good with the owners visiting nieces and nephews. She has not lived with a cat and she does not like large dogs. She has quite a nervous personality. She pulls initially on the lead - when off lead she returns to a whistle, but can suffer with selective deafness. When travelling, she can bark initially with excitement.
Gem is a 15 month old Liver and White Springer. She needs a new home as her owners are in ill-health and unable to cope as she likes a lot of exercise. Gem is house trained and lives inside and can be left for short periods. She is good with the owner's young grand-children, but does get very excited. She is fine around other animals, but gets scared if others start to get nasty. She walks nicely on the lead most of the time. She comes back when called, if off lead, but sometimes a treat is needed.
Rascal is a 17 month old very handsome, Black Springer/Cocker X. He left his first home as his owners were expecting a baby. The couple worked all day and hadn't spent time socialising him. In his second home, he lived with another dog. He was nipping and his owners couldn't cope. Since being with CAESSR our kennel manager has worked to socialise Rascal properly and he is now a very friendly dog. He is looking for a new family, who can offer him plenty of activity and stimulation and a loving new home.
Patch and George are 4 year old Springer Spaniels and are litter brothers looking for a home together. George is Liver and White and Patch is Black and White - they need a new home due to a change in family circumstances. They are very friendly boys, who love people and are very good with other dogs. They are good with children from toddlers up and have lived with a cat, but used to chase it. If off-lead they can suffer from selective deafness, especially if there is something very interesting to investigate!
Archie is a 3½ year old Liver and White Springer, who needs a new home as his owners are expecting a baby. He has come to us from a local pound, so we know little of his history. He has quite a nervous personality. We are told that he will chase cats and can be jealous of little children. He doesn't pull too much on the lead and he travels well in the car. When Archie wags his tail, his whole body wags! He also has a very deep sounding bark.
Fudge is an 18 month old Liver and White Springer. He is a beautiful dog, full of energy and needs a new home as his owner has ill-health and can no longer keep him. He is house trained and sleeps inside. He has mainly been exercised off-lead in a secure field and his recall is good. He hasn't had much practice walking on a lead so will need some training. Fudge is used to other dogs and cats and is good with the owner's visiting grand-children.
Rocket is a 2½ year old Black and White Cocker/King Charles X. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. Rocket is a very gentle boy, who adores children. He can be a little shy initially, when meeting new people. He loves to play with other dogs. He has not lived with a cat, or seen livestock. He is house trained and sleeps inside and can be left for short periods. He pulls on the lead and comes back eventually, if off lead.
