Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Jack is a 3 year old Field Spaniel and is Black with a White diamond shape on his chest. Blacky is a 3 year old Black American Cocker. The dogs are just one month apart in age and have been together since puppies and are very bonded. The pair were born in Teneriffe and have their pet passports. They are urgently in need of a new home as their owners working life has changed and they are being left very long hours. Both have good temperaments. Jack is a confident dog who needs lots of exercise. Blacky is a bit nervous and can wee occasionally. It can happen if he picks up something he shouldn't have and you have to take it from his mouth. Both are good with other dogs. They haven't lived with children or cats. Both pull at first on the lead and are then better. Their recall is quite good. Blacky stays closer but both won't loose you. They travel well in the car.
Daphne is a 17 week old Golden show type Cocker Spaniel. Her family love her very much, but feel that they made a mistake in acquiring her. Their older Cocker doesn't like her playful behaviour and they are also finding it hard to house train her. Daphne is fine with cats, but hasn't met young children. She is already quite good on and off the lead. She is getting used to travelling in a car and has been left for short periods in the utility room.
Olly is a 4½ year old Blue Roan working type Cocker Spaniel. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. Olly is a very affectionate boy, who is great with children. He has been living with another dog, but he hasn't lived with a cat. He has lots of energy and enjoys long walks. He pulls quite hard on the lead but is good off lead, although he will go quite a distance from you. He travels well in the car and can be left home alone for short periods.
Treacle is a 9 year old Red show type Cocker Spaniel. She needs a new home as her owner has moved onto a canal boat and Treacle was spooked when he hit a bridge. Treacle has quite a nervous personality and was attacked by another dog when young. She has been to a behaviourist and is now much better socialised. She has also lived happily with her litter sister. Treacle is initially nervous when meeting new people and at times likes her own space. She has not lived with cats. She seems to be fine with children. She is good on and off the lead. Treacle travels well in the car. She has had separation anxiety problems in the past but is much better now but is looking for a home where she will not be left too long.
Buddy is an 18 month old Golden show type Cocker. His original owner has passed away and he has been brought from Ireland to be rehomed by CAESSR. Buddy is good with children and other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. He is house trained and can be left home alone for short periods. He pulls a little on the lead. We do not know if he is good off lead, but we are told that he is good around livestock. Buddy has a slightly nervous personality. He travels well in the car.
Bracken is a 16 month old Liver and White Springer. He was rescued from a couple who were ill, and couldn't exercise him, as a companion for their 6 year old child. However, he is much too boisterous. Bracken is a lovely natured dog who needs more exercise, training and discipline. He is good with children but needs more socialisation with other dogs - this is being started at our kennels. He has not lived with a cat. He pulls a lot on the lead and his recall needs training. He can be left home alone for short periods. He isn't used to travelling in a car and was a bit agitated when being driven to kennels.
Buster is about 4 years old and is a Blue Roan working type Cocker. He was rescued by the present owners two years ago from a home where a family member was allergic. In his first home, Buster lived inside and was house trained. For the last two years he has lived in an outside kennel, with a Springer, but it is felt that he would make someone a nice house pet, possibly as the only dog. Buster is good with children of all ages and he has lived with a cat. He is OK on the lead and is very good when off lead. he travels well in the car and can be left home alone for short periods.
Canis is an 8 year old Blue Roan Cocker Spaniel. His owner has moved into a flat due to illness and is unable to walk and look after him. Canis has a lovely temperament. He is a quiet and loving dog. He is used to a visiting young grandchild. He has not lived with cats. He hasn't had much socialising with other dogs but seems to be OK. He is good on and off the lead and doesn't venture far from you. He travels well in the car and can be left home alone for short periods.
