Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

BARNEY (was Barkley)

Barkley is a 5 year old Black working type Cocker. His owners are relocating due to work commitments and are unable to dedicate the time he needs for exercising. Barkley is used to the owners' young grandchildren, who visit. He lives with a cat and is good with other dogs. Barkley is afraid of the noise from fireworks. The lady of the house has to keep her mobile phone out of his reach as he tries to get hold of it before her when it rings. She has tried different ringtones, but it makes no difference! Barkley is good on and off the lead. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

ROSIE

ROSIE

Rosie is a 3.5 year old Liver and White Springer. She needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. Rosie is used to children and has lived with another dog and a cat. She is good on and off the lead and travels well in the car.

When Rosie and Milo arrived with CAESSR in November, both dogs were suffering with severe fear aggression issues.Milo growled and wouldn't move out of his bed and Rosie hid away behind Milo completely out of sight. We are grateful to the kennel staff and to our behaviourist whose patience and dedication we applaud, helping these dogs to trust humans again. Rosie has spent 2 weeks with a residential trainer, who is expert in this field. This has enabled us to rehome Rosie to a patient loving home.

SKIPPER

SKIPPER

Skipper is a 10 month old Springer X Cocker. He is Black with a White blaze on his chest. He is an extremely high energy dog, who needs to be occupied all the time. His owners live in a town and Skipper needs to be in a rural location with lots of running space. He never settles and is constantly looking for something to do. He is an intelligent, affectionate dog. Skipper has met children, but would knock over young ones. He has no cat experience. When off lead, his recall is good, but he wants to go and play with other dogs. He is getting better when on the lead and is learning to walk to heel. He loves travelling in the car. He has only been left home alone for 90 minutes, but he gets bored and scrabbles at doors.

FREDDIE

FREDDIE

Freddie is an 8 month old Liver and White Springer. His owner has been offered full time employment, which means that Freddie will be left home alone too much for such a young dog. He is used to children, but could knock over young ones. He is good with other dogs, but has no cat experience. Freddie pulls on the lead. He likes to be off-lead and will not venture too far away and will return when called, sometimes! When travelling he will cry at first, but soon settles. He can be left home alone for short periods, but can still chew if he gets bored.

MABEL

MABEL

Mabel is a 3 year old Black show type Cocker. She has been taken from a home by the dog warden after complaints from neighbours.

When in our foster home it became clear that Mabel had a problem with her eyes as she was bumping into things. Having seen an eye specialist Mabel has a Cataract covering the right eye completely and one growing on the left eye. Prior to treatment she was taken for another health check and was found to have a heart problem - pulmonic stenosis. She needs heart surgery first which may or may not allow her to go on and have the eye surgery.
