Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

HANNAH

HANNAH

Hannah is a 9 year old Golden show type Cocker. She urgently needs a new home, where someone is around most of the time. She suffers terribly with separation anxiety, when her owner is at work and she gets very stressed. Hannah is very good with children. She likes other dogs but only if they are calm and not boisterous. She will bark at cats and chase them. She loves hugs and will nestle in your neck. She loves her walks and often goes hill-walking. She enjoys travelling and every time she goes out of the house she makes a "bee-line" for the car. Hannah has a bad habit of eating tissues and will even sniff them out! She is very good on and off the lead.

SINDY (was Mindy)

SINDY (was Mindy)

Mindy is a 2½ year old small Black and White Springer. The owners now have a baby and as they have moved into smaller accommodation, they haven't the space to keep a second dog. They rescued Mindy in Ireland, where she was an unwanted gundog - possibly gun-shy. Mindy has a few issues from her previous life and can be quite anxious when left home alone. She can be timid of strangers - especially men. Mindy is OK with children and with other dogs. She has not lived with a cat. She pulls on the lead. Her recall is getting better, but if she gets a scent or sees a sea-gull she will follow it. She travels very well in the car.

JASPER

JASPER

Jasper is a three year old Blue Roan show type Cocker. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. He is not getting the time, attention and space that he deserves and also a child in the family is allergic. Jasper is a good obedient dog, who is wonderful with children. He is good around other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. He is good on a lead, just pulling a bit initially and he will sit at curb-sides. He enjoys being off lead and likes to be in the water. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

CHARLIE

CHARLIE

Charlie is a 2 year old Black show type Cocker. He belongs to a young couple, who have young children visiting and want to start a family. Charlie has a nervous personality and is not suited to live with children. He is a clever dog. He knows when someone visiting is used to dogs and he can be a bit growly towards those who are not. It is best to let him approach you first for affection. He can be similar when meeting new dogs. He can possibly judge whether they are friendly. Charlie needs an experienced, relaxed owner to be his pack leader and he needs a fairly quiet home. He loves the people that he knows. He likes to sleep upstairs in his basket and he will get off the sofa if told firmly to do so. Charlie has not lived with a cat. He will pull initially with excitement when on the lead. He has a good recall to voice or whistle (unless following a scent). He loves going in the car. He can be left for short periods, although can chew or whine if left too long.

GINNY (was VINNY)

GINNY (was VINNY)

Vinny is a 4 year old Tri-coloured show type Cocker. She needs a new home as the family are expecting a second child and she is not getting the attention that she deserves. Vinny enjoys lots of fuss and attention and needs a home where someone is almost always around. She lives with two other female dogs. She plays well with one of them, but the other is very bossy towards her. She is used to children and also lives with a cat. She pulls a bit on the lead. Her recall is very good. Vinny was born with two of her toes fussed together - this has never been a problem. She travels well in the car. She can be left for short periods, but has always had the company of another dog.

POPPY

POPPY

Poppy is a 5 year old Black show type Cocker. She needs a new home as the family are expecting a second child and she is not getting the attention that she deserves. Poppy lives with two other female dogs but needs to be the only dog in the home - getting all the fuss and attention. She is top dog and is very bossy towards the other two. She is good with other dogs outside the home and has an excellent recall. She pulls slightly when on the lead. Poppy  is used to children and lives with a cat. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

RUBY

RUBY

Ruby is a 2½ year old Golden show type Cocker. She lives with two other female Cockers that are older than her, but she has become top dog and is increasingly dominant towards the other two - pinning them down and growling. Ruby is looking for an experienced home where she will be the only dog. She is a really loving dog towards family members, including children, but would be best with older children only. She loves water and playing fetch. She also likes to lay on her favourite toy when she goes to bed. She doesn't like strangers coming to her home and barks. Ruby is used to cats and is good with other dogs when out and off lead. Her recall is good, but she does get quite vocal when excited. She pulls on the lead. Her owners have tried a halti, but she tries to pull it off. Ruby sleeps in the kitchen and can be left for short periods. She travels well in the car.

FRANK

FRANK

Frank is a 6 year old Black and Tan show type Cocker. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. He is a wonderful dog, who enjoys long walks and cuddles. Frank lives with two young children, but they are constantly teasing him so his family want a new home for him with no young ones. Frank loves other dogs and likes to play. He used to live with another dog, who has now passed away. He does not like cats. He pulls on the lead, but is better on a halti. His recall is good. He sleeps in the kitchen and can be left for short periods. Frank travels well in the car.
