Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Roxy is a 5 year old Black Springer X Cocker. She needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. Roxy is a lovely dog and is very bouncy. She has grown up with children who are now teenagers and she has lived happily with a male Springer. She actually smiles - showing her teeth! She suffers a bit with her ears - they need regular cleaning. She pulls on the lead, but walks better on a halti. Roxy is usually good when off lead, but will chase cats. She loves water, but doesn't swim. Roxy travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Tilly May is a 5 year old Black and White Springer. Her owner has on-going health problems with an injured knee and can't give Tilly the exercise that she needs. Tilly is good with children. She is good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. She pulls on the lead, especially when excited. Her recall is good. Tilly May is fond of digging holes in the garden or when off lead! She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Bobby is a 9 year old large Liver and White Springer. His owner has no longer the time to spend with him. Bobby is a lovely dog, who has been well looked after. He comes from a built up area and his owner has never had the confidence to train him for off lead exercise - so he hasn't had the chance to enjoy running around in woods and fields and to play with other dogs. Bobby has had a little contact with a toddler and would be fine with older children. He has also lived with a cat. He pulls on the lead so is walked on a harness. He is good in the car, but gets excited and he can be left for short periods.
Bruno is an 8 month old Liver and White Springer. His first owner was a single Mum with two very young children. His second owner just had him for a week saying that he chased the cat and wasn't house trained. Bruno is a typical lively Springer, who needs a home where is owners are used to the breed and can give him the training he deserves. He is a friendly boy, who is good with children and other dogs.
Misty is a 9 year old Blue Roan show type Cocker. For the past three years she has lived alone with her owner and is used to a quiet life. Her owner now has a new partner, who has four children - two with autism - and Misty can't cope and is snapping at the children. Misty is a lovely dog. She has never lived with another dog or a cat. She pulls a bit on the lead. She is good off lead and likes water. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Mason is a 4 year old Blue Roan show type Cocker. His present owners have had him just 4 months. They work and need to leave him home alone for periods of 4 hours and Mason suffers with terrible separation anxiety. His owners also have cats and Mason gets very excited and lunges at one of them. Mason is a really friendly boy, who seems to be good with two young visiting nephews. He walks reasonably well on a lead. If off lead he won't come back if he catches a scent. He has also chased livestock. He travels very well in the car. He has a favourite brown toy that he knows as Benji.
Roxie is an 8 year old small black show type cocker. Her family are moving to a farm and Roxie is not good with livestock. Roxie also lives with another female dog and when off lead she chases this other dog. In the house the two dogs are fine together. When walked on her own Roxie is good with other dogs that she meets, although she may grumble if they get too close to her. When off lead she suffers with selective deafness and would not be safe with tractors or livestock. She would be best in a home without young children. She is used to teenagers. She has not lived with a cat. Roxie is very affectionate and active for her age. She loves to go out in the car and can be left for short periods.
Charlie is a three year old Liver and White Springer. His owner is now unable to look after him as he is undergoing treatment for Cancer. Charlie is a typical Springer - full of life and can be obedient if he wants to! He is used to children, cats and other dogs. He has also been around sheep and lambs. He pulls a lot on the lead. His recall needs more work as he will not return if he smells pheasants. He was originally a failed drugs dog. He sleeps in a cool utility room and prefers to sleep on a mat rather than in a bed. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
