Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Tilly is a 12 year old Blue Roan show type Cocker. Her owner is being deployed abroad at short notice and no one is available to look after Tilly. She is urgently looking for a permanent foster home. Tilly is a beautiful dog but is blind. Due to Glaucoma she has had both eyes removed. She is used to children and good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. She can pull a little on the lead. Tilly travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Jasper and Luigi are a pair of show type Cockers, who have always lived together. If possible we would like to find them a new home together. Their owner is now working full-time and the dogs lack the human company that they love and deserve. Luigi is 8.5 years old and is black and Tan. Jasper is just 13 years old and Black and will be available on our Foster an oldie scheme. He has very recently had a fatty lump removed from his leg. He is a little arthritic at times and has a few other lumps and bumps. He loves to carry around his soft toy. Luigi just loves human company. Both have been well loved and looked after in the same home all their lives. They are both used to children, but have not lived with a cat. They pull a bit on the lead, but have good recall. They travel well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Rory is a 6 month old Cocker puppy, who is part working and part show type. He is Black with Blue Roan markings on his chest and nose. His owner is now working full-time. Rory is used to children and good with other dogs. He has not lived with a cat. He pulls on the lead and his recall needs training. He travels well in the car.
Ginny is a 4 year old Chocolate Springer X Labrador. She looks like a Labrador but with Springer Ears. She has started fighting with an older female spaniel in the home. When left home alone the owner is having to keep the two dogs separated. They are only used to being left for short periods. Ginny is used to cats and is good with other dogs outside the home. She is used to older children, but can be nervous around younger ones. She is a very energetic dog, who gets excited at the start of a walk, but does know how to walk to heel! She will recall to whistle, but will chase rabbits and squirrels. She is used to chickens and is regularly walked through livestock when on the lead. She travels well in the car.
Sabrina is a 14 year old Liver and White Springer. She has come to CAESSR as her owner has passed away. She is a small springer who is rather under-weight. This could be due to the fact that she was not fed for 5 days. We know nothing of her past history, but she seems to be a friendly little dog. She is looking for a CAESSR foster home.
Sabrina is house trained and brilliant with other dogs. She is very active and likes to run up and down the stairs. She is beginning to put on weight and it is hard to believe that she is 14 years old.
Malcolm (Malkie) is a 6 month old Golden Cocker, who is part working and part show type. His family have young children, who excite him and he needs a quieter home. He needs experienced owners who understand the possessive nature of some Cockers. Malcolm can be food obsessive. He was possessive with the children's toys, but the owners have recently managed to get them from his mouth. In his home he was allowed to sleep on the bed and he bit the hand of one of his owners, who moved him off the pillow. Malcolm would be best homed with no children. He loves other dogs, but has no experience of cats. He pulls on the lead. His recall needs more work - he wants to play with other dogs. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Bella is a 4.5 year old Black and White show type Cocker. She has become stressed since loosing her canine companion. She is growling at the children and at the other animals in the home and has pulled at her fur and created some itchy patches on her skin. Bella is very friendly with everyone she meets and used to be good with children, cats and other dogs. She loves walking and with firm command will walk well. Her recall needs training. She loves travelling in the car and can be left for short periods.
Millie is a 7 year old Blue Roan show type Cocker. She has been with her present owner for two years. Her owner is now poorly and feels that she has never really bonded with Millie as she is a demanding dog needing lots of fuss and attention. She feels that it would be kinder for Millie to be placed with someone who needs a companion dog and who can give Millie the attention she deserves. Millie is used to visiting grandchildren. She is sociable with dogs she meets when out walking, but hasn't lived with a cat. She is good on and off the lead. She travels well in the car and can be left just for short periods.
