Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Abby is a 9 month old Liver and White Springer, her owner now has back problems and cannot continue with her training. Abby can be a bit timid when meeting strangers and is a little wary of small children. She is good with other dogs and lives with a Cocker spaniel. She has no cat experience. She pulls on the lead, however, her recall is already good. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Jay is approximately 18 months old and is a Blue Roan working type Cocker. He is an unwanted dog, who spent all his time outside and was just thrown scraps of food. He was rescued by concerned people, who have dogs and a cat, but they couldn't keep him so he has come to CAESSR. Jay also met his rescuer's grandchildren and behaved well with them. He will need to be properly house-trained, but his rescuers have started the process. Jay is desperate for the company of other dogs so is looking for a home where he will have canine companionship to make him feel secure. His recall will need training and he will need an experienced and active home.
Milly is an 8 month old Golden show type Cocker. Her owner now has a full time job and Milly needs more attention than her family can give. Milly is used to children and has lived with a cat. She has a confident personality and is good around other dogs. She pulls on the lead and if off lead she likes to chase birds and squirrels, but her recall, otherwise, is good. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Bobby is 12 months old and is a Golden show type Cocker. His owner is now working away from home and Bobby is not having the type of life he should have with regard to exercising and time left alone. He is used to children, cats and other dogs. He pulls a bit on the lead and he already has good recall. He can be left just for short periods.
Max is a 12 month old Black working type Cocker with a small White bib. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. He is a good well behaved pup, who is used to teenaged children and has lived with a cat. He is very boisterous around other dogs and wants to be friends. He pulls on the lead and has started his recall training. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Jess is approximately 3-4 years old and is a small Liver and White Springer. She has come to CAESSR as she was found straying. Jess is a needy dog, who wants lots of human attention and is good with other dogs. We think that she may enjoy being in a home with another dog. Jess is not house-trained and has had puppies in the past. She seems to be an obedient dog, who is very intelligent, but she does bark quite a lot at our base. She travels well in the car on trips to the vet.
Doug is a 17 month old large Black and White show type Cocker. He needs a new home as his owner's work commitments have changed and Doug is not happy at being left home alone. He loves to be with you all the time and to follow you around. He is a very loving dog. Doug has no experience of living with children or with cats. When meeting children out walking he is wary and moves out of the way. He is good with other dogs. He is very good on the lead and is well behaved when off lead and will return to his name being called or to a whistle. He travels OK, but barks with excitement if he thinks he is going to the park.
Jimbob is a 12 year old Liver and White Springer. He is an unwanted dog, who has come to CAESSR from a local dogs home, where he was showing signs of extreme stress, wondering what was happening to him. He seems to have a lovely nature. He is a fit dog, who still enjoys his walks, but we do think that Jimbob is deaf. He is urgently looking for a new home.
Jimbob became ill on New Years Day and is being treated for a Thyroid problem. He is now in a temporary foster home and undergoing tests at our vets. He is not looking for a home now, until early February.
