Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Chester is a 6 year old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home due to a change in the owner's circumstances - he is being left very long hours. Chester has lived with his litter brother and hasn't socialised much with other dogs outside the home. He is behaving well with the other dogs at our base. He is used to children, but has not lived with a cat. He pulls on the lead, but is better on a halti. His recall is good unless he sees another dog when he and his litter brother will chase, but have never attacked. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods, but has always had the company of his brother.
Chester is a lovely friendly dog, but he always wants to have all the attention and is bossy with the other dogs. He is looking for a new home where he will be the only dog and where there are never any visiting dogs to his home. He pulls on an extending lead, but if on a rope lead will walk to heel. If off lead he doesn't go too far from you.
Ben is a 7 month old Golden show type Cocker. He has come to CAESSR via Battersea Dogs Home, where he was handed in as he was being aggressive towards a 5 year old boy. He had also bitten the child's Mum when she went to rescue her son from the dog. Ben has been with CAESSR for almost a month and has behaved very well with the other dogs. He is house trained. His recall has not yet been trained. He is quite a nervous traveller and has been sick on a long journey. We are looking for a home who may be able to manage this troublesome pup. Ben is looking for experienced owners, who could initially take him on trial.
Bailey is an 8 year old Blue roan show type Cocker. He was handed in to his vet as his owner could no longer manage to cope with his allergies. Bailey has been fully tested and he is allergic to various foods - white fish, salmon and pork. He is also allergic to storage mites. His food needs to be kept in air-tight container. He is a lovely dog and has been well looked after and is nicely groomed. Bailey is very good with children and with other dogs. He seems to prefer children to adults! He has not lived with a cat. He is good on and off the lead. He has settled in well at our base and is looking for a loving new home. CAESSR can help if his allergies flare up, but at present there is no sign of any problems.
Chance is an 8.5 year old Liver and White Springer. His owner is moving into rented accommodation and is also taking full-time work and is unable to give Chance the time and attention he deserves. Chance is used to children, but has not lived with a cat. He is good with other dogs outside the home, but is used to being the only dog in the home and can be protective of his food when in the company of other dogs. He walks well on the lead, but can pull a little on an extending lead. His recall is excellent. He likes to fetch a ball and to swim in the sea. He travels very well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Coral is an 8 week old Black and White working type Cocker, who has been diagnosed with entropian and needs a knowledgeable and understanding home where she will receive the surgery that she requires. She is good with children and other dogs.
Sunshine is an 8 week old Lemon and Gold working type Cocker, who has been diagnosed with entropian and needs a knowledgeable and understanding home where she will receive the surgery that she requires. She is good with children and other dogs.
Pep (Pepper) is an 8 year old Liver & White Springer. He has come to CAESSR as an emergency as his owner has passed away. He was left home alone and was howling although a family member was coming in to feed and walk him. Pep has come to CAESSR with a bulging eye and was rushed to our vet. He has glaucoma and needs to have his eye removed. He must have been in a lot of pain. His other eye may have a cataract forming. Pep is a lovely friendly dog who is used to children and other dogs but has not lived with a cat. He is OK on and off the lead. He travels well in the car. He is urgently looking for a loving new home. His surgery has now been carried out and he is currently in a foster home.
Lucy and Monty are Cocker Spaniels who are part show type and part working. Lucy is 7 years old and Black and Monty is 4 years old and Golden. They are mother and son and are very bonded and looking for a new home together. They have been very loving family dogs, but their family can no longer give them the life that they deserve due to multiple health problems within the family. They are used to children of all ages. The family have 5 children and both dogs love them all and are quite protective of them. They are also used to cats. Lucy and Monty are fine with other dogs when out walking, but can bark at some little dogs. They are good on the lead and love being off lead retrieving balls and enjoy the beach and paddling in the sea. They travel well in the car and can be left for short periods.
