Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Millie is a three year old Liver and White Springer, who needs a new home as the owner's daughter is moving in with four children and the owner has no time to look after her. Millie is good with children of all ages and has lived with a male Springer for the last 18 months. She would possibly be OK with cats as she is used to next doors 4 cats coming into her garden. Millie pulls on the lead, but has a very good recall. She travels well in the car.
Cameron is a lovely 9 year old Black working type Cocker, who has only been in his home for 9 months (his original owner was moving house). He has ear problems and his current owner can't afford to give him the medication he needs. He has a brilliant temperament, being good with children of all ages. He is good with cats and other dogs. He is house trained and loves company and is OK if home alone for short periods. He is gentle on the lead and OK off lead. He loves travelling in the car. Cameron has an extra set of eye-lashes that need regular washing.
Dynomite is a 3½ year old Black and White Springer. He needs a new home as his owner needs to travel abroad for work and can't give him the time he deserves. He is house trained, but has generally been living in an outside kennel, but slept inside in the recent cold weather. He is very well socialised, with other family dogs - labradors and fell terriers. He is good with the owners' young nieces and nephews. He has not lived with a cat. Dyno pulls initially on the lead and is then better and will return, if off lead, unless he is distracted by chasing a rabbit! He travels very well in the car and loves to swim.
Brock is almost 3 years old and is a Liver and White Springer. He has been a working gundog, but cannot continue as he has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Brock is a very obedient dog, who is very affectionate and loves being stroked on the back of his neck. He enjoys swimming and loves travelling in the car. He is good with other dogs, but has not lived with children or cats. He is OK on the lead and his recall is trained to the whistle. Brock has slept in an outside kennel and will need to be house-trained.
Raggles is a 11 year old Black working type Cocker, who needs a new home where he will be the only dog and the centre of attention. He is not getting on with other dogs in his family. He likes to play with other dogs, when outside the home. He likes children, but doesn't like young ones who may climb over him. He does not like cats and will bark at humans who have been near cats. He is a very fit dog, who has been well looked after. He can be happily left home alone for short periods. Raggles is fairly good on the lead. He travels well in the car. Raggles is urgently looking for a foster home.
Alfie is about 5/6 years old and is a Black and White Springer. He was handed in at a local dogs home - his owner has passed away. He has a super personality, but is a bit over-weight and scruffy. His coat will be groomed before re-homing. Alfie is very good with children and is used to cats and other dogs. He is house trained and travels well in the car.
Hattie is a 3 year old Black and White Springer. She needs a new home as she is fighting with another female Springer in the same household. Hattie is good with other dogs outside the home and she has also lived with a cat. She is also used to children of all ages. Hattie pulls on the lead, but is better on a halti and her recall is good. She is OK if left home alone for a few hours and she travels well in the car.
Barney is a 10 month old Liver, White and Tan show/working type Cocker, who needs a new home as he nipped his owner when she was taking a chew off him. Barney needs lots of attention and exercise and he has been treated as a "lap dog" and he has never been out of his garden. Our trainer has started his lead training. Barney is house trained and he is a bit over-weight. He is good with other dogs, but he has not been socialised with children. He was living with 6 cats, but growled at them and chased them. Barney travels well in the car and has been handled by a few members of our team and seems to be a pleasant dog and just needs training. Barny has had a perforated ear-drum but is OK now.
