Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
William is a 22 month old Black show type Cocker. He needs a new home as he has nipped a 7 year old child in the home. William was asleep and the child was being naughty. William used to be possessive with his food and toys, but his owner has worked hard with him. He needs a strong experienced owner with no young children. William is a very friendly dog in our kennels. He has no cat experience. He can pull on the lead, but will walk to heal when being treat trained. He has a fantastic recall and needs lots of walks as he is a very active dog. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Monty is a three year old Black working type Cocker. His owner is not well and is unable to give Monty the life that he deserves. Monty and his owner have recently been spending time with the owner's brother and sister-in-law who have a young child. Monty is OK with the child, but his owner is worried and keeps him on a lead in the home in case he picks up one of the child's toys and gets possessive with it. Monty is good with other dogs, but has no cat experience. He pulls a bit on the lead and is usually eager to run and play. He is good when off-lead, but his owner gets very anxious. He travels well in the car. He hasn't been left home alone much and his owner thinks he may bark if left too long.
Ozzy is a 7 year old Liver and White Springer. His owners feel that they are not giving him the life that he deserves, as they have two young children and an elderly Labrador. Ozzy is still very lively. He is good with the children and with the Labrador, but he has no cat experience. He pulls on the lead. When off-lead his recall is great. Ozzy can become a bit wary when approached by some other dogs. In his puppy years he was towered over by a huge dog. He can steal socks and hide under the table, but his owner can remove them from his mouth. He travels well in the car and can be left home alone for 3/4 hours, but he likes to have his toys around him.
Jack is a 3.5 year old Lemon and White working type Cocker. He needs a new home as his owners' working hours have changed, which means that he is being left home alone very long hours. Jack is used to children. He is a very active boy, who is good with other dogs and has lived with a cat. He is reasonably well behaved on and off the lead. He travels well in the car and is good when left home alone, but he just needs more company than he is getting at present.
Roxy is a 7 year old black and tan show type Cocker. She needs a new home as her owner has unexpectedly become homeless. Roxy has only lived with her present owner for a few months. She was taken on by her owner as she was no longer needed by the breeder. Roxy was in a bad condition when rescued - lots of fleas and a poor looking coat. She is still overweight but is being given a good light food supplemented by vegetables and her weight is reducing. Roxy likes everybody and will be ok with children. She doesn't like large dogs. She has no cat experience. She is good on and off the lead and travels well in the car. She is looking for a home where she will be rarely left or a home with another quiet small dog. She can be left for short periods.
Poppy is a 10 week old Black working type Cocker puppy, who was bought by an older lady, who can't cope with a puppy and the situation is making her ill. Poppy is good with a visiting child.
Millie is a 4.5 year old Tri-colour working type Cocker. Her owners are both working full-time so Millie is not getting the attention she deserves. The owners have a dog walker every week day. They have tried daycare, but Millie found that too stressful. She is a very active dog, who loves to play ball and can retrieve. Millie is good with children. She is OK with other dogs, but has no cat experience. She can still pull on the lead at times. Her recall is good - she doesn't go far from you. She travels well in the car. Millie has recently had a lump removed from her side. This was found to be cancerous. She will need a check-up every six months as there is a low risk that she may develop more cancerous lumps. She is looking for a loving new home with more companionship.
Keri is just 9 years old and is a Black show type Cocker. She needs a new home as she has started fighting with the other female Cocker in her home. This other female Cocker is Keri's daughter. Keri is very friendly with people and is used to older children. She used to live with a cat. Keri is very loyal and willing to please. She walks well on the lead and is interested in other dogs, but is never aggressive. Her recall has never been trained as she has a very large garden to play in. However, on odd occasions when she has been off lead she won't loose you. She travels well in the car. She has never been left more than a couple of hours, but she settles well and is fine. She loves her soft toys and enjoys being groomed and brushed.
