Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

CHIP

CHIP

Chip is a seven year old Black and White working type Cocker Spaniel. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. Chip is a lovely natured dog. He has become a little over-weight due to a lack of exercise and his coat is very thick. He will be trimmed before he goes to his new home. Chip has always lived with children. He is used to cats and has lived with another dog. He loves walking, but pulls on the lead initially. He is very good off lead. He can be left home alone for short periods. He travels well in the car, but does occasionally whine.

ALFIE

ALFIE

Alfie is a 5 year old Black working type Cocker. He has come to CAESSR due to a change in family circumstances. Alfie is a very lively dog, who likes lots of fuss and attention and is used to living with an older Cocker. He is very good with other dogs and would enjoy the company of another dog to play with. He is good with children and he has lived with a cat. Alfie likes to carry around a rawhide chew. He can wee with excitement when meeting new people. He pulls quite a lot when on the lead. He is very obedient when off lead. He travels well but gets restless on long journeys. He is good when left at home, but was used to being left with another dog.

MILO

MILO

Milo is a 6 month old Chocolate Roan and Tan Sprocker, who looks like a Cocker. He has come to CAESSR via a small rescue, who rescued him from a breeder. He was living outside as a Chihuahua didn't like him. He had not been sold as his eyes "shook". The vet said that he may grow out of it, but if not he would need neurological tests. He is very nervous around humans, but is good with children cats and other dogs. On arrival with CAESSR it was found that Milo would not walk on a lead - he just lay down and wouldn't move. Eventually, our dog walkers were able to get him to walk alongside another dog and to start giving him some confidence. Milo has been in foster care and is now ready for his forever home. His eyes are improving as his stress goes away.

LOLA

LOLA

Lola is a 4 year old Liver and White Springer. Her owners have moved house and are working longer hours and can't give Lola the attention she deserves. She is a lovely dog - great with children of all ages. She is good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. She doesn't like to be locked in small rooms and when left home alone she has the run of the downstairs of the house. Lola pulls on the lead and she is not very good when off lead. She understands lots of different commands. She travels fairly well in the car.

SPOTTY

SPOTTY

Spotty is an 11 month old Black and White Springer. He has already had two homes in his short life. His owner cannot cope with his behaviour. He is chewing the wood flooring and has dug an enormous hole in the back garden! Spotty is good with children and wants to play with other dogs. If he is off lead he will run to play with another dog (he will come back eventually). Spotty has not lived with a cat. He pulls a lot on the lead. He travels well in the car, but has not been left home alone as he cannot be trusted not to destroy things in the house.

ALFIE

ALFIE

Alfie is a 14 month old Liver and White Springer, who needs a new home due to the continuing poor health of his owner. He is very friendly with people and good with children and other dogs. He has not lived with a cat. Alfie pulls at first on the lead with excitement and is then better. He loves play and finding things - especially with balls. His recall is OK, but he is sometimes slow returning. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

MAX

MAX

Max is a 5 year old Black and White Springer X Cocker. He needs a new home as his owner has a young baby and Max is jealous. Max is a boisterous, fun loving, affectionate dog, who would be suitable in a home with older children. He hasn't lived with another pet, but is good with other dogs outside the home. He has a habit of stealing things - socks, tea-towels etc. and will chew them. He will also chew his bedding. The more you chase him to retrieve stolen items, the more he thinks it is fun! He loves to chase a ball. Max is looking for an active home. He needs more exercise and stimulation than he was getting in his original home. His owners haven't been letting him off lead recently as he was going too far from them. Max travels well in the car. He is frightened of the vet and has been muzzled. He has been put in a crate when left due to his chewing habit.

TERRY

TERRY

Terry is a 7 year old Liver and White Show type Springer. His owner's circumstances have changed and he needs to be away from home for long periods. Terry loves everyone and is extremely friendly. He is used to children. He loves to be with other dogs and gets on OK with cats. He is generally good on the lead, but tends to pull, unless he is checked. He is very good off lead and won't let you out of his sight. Terry will steal food if it is left accessible. He also has some ear problems. He travels reasonably well in the car, but hasn't had much experience. He can be left home alone for short periods.
