Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

WINSTON

WINSTON

Winston is a 16 month old Chocolate Field Spaniel. He needs a new home as his family are not confident about having him around other peoples' children. He is fine with the five children that he lives with, but he has developed a fear of other children after empty drink cans were thrown at him. He has recently attacked a visiting child, who cornered him. Winston is a submissive dog, but he is good with other dogs and he is used to living with a cat. In fact, he likes to play with the cat. He is fearful of riding in cars and has developed a dislike of travel cages. He has a lovely character, is very energetic and is obsessed with balls. He is nervous of walking near busy roads, when on his lead. He can pull on the lead, but does know how to walk well, if told. He is brilliant off lead. He is very good at finding treats hidden in the garden. He can be left for short periods.

SOPHIE

SOPHIE

Sophie is almost 5 years old and is a Blue Roan show type Cocker. She has come to CAESSR via another rescue so we know little of her history. She seems to be a very friendly dog and is behaving well at our kennels and mixing with the other dogs. We are told that She belonged to a lady, who now has a partner whose dog does not get on with Sophie. Sophie is described as a needy dog, who will bond very quickly to a new owner. She may have some separation anxiety issues as she barked when her foster carer left her home alone. She would possibly be OK living with older children. She travelled very well in the car when she came to our kennels.

ELLIE

ELLIE

Ellie is an 11 year old blue roan show type Cocker. She urgently needs a permanent foster home as her owner has recently passed away. She is hard of hearing and has poor eyesight but otherwise is healthy. She is a friendly dog who has not lived with children but would possibly be OK. She is good with other dogs and has been living with another Cocker but the two are not very bonded. However, Ellie may need to be with another dog due to her sight and hearing problems. She has not lived with a cat. Ellie pulls a bit on the lead and is not let off lead due to her poor eyesight. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods but was always with another dog.

OZZY

OZZY

Ozzy is a three year old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home as he hasn't adjusted to the arrival of a new baby in the family - he has become very jealous. Ozzy has quite a nervous personality and is looking for a quiet home with an experienced owner and no children and where he will be the only dog. He pulls on the lead and has never been properly trained to be off lead. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods. Ozzy has been with our trainer. He is a beautiful dog who is now urgently looking for the right home.

HENRY

HENRY

Henry will be four years old in July and is a Liver and White Springer. His owner has to move home and can't keep a dog in his new accommodation. Henry doesn't really like other dogs very much. He won't snap unless they pester him, but he would be best suited to a home without other dogs. He doesn't like children much either. Teenagers are fine, but ideally an all adult home is required. Henry has not lived with cats. He pulls quite a bit on the lead. When off lead he generally comes back quickly unless following a scent. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

POPPY-ANGEL

POPPY-ANGEL

Poppy-Angel will be 2 years old in June. She is a Black and White Spaniel X Collie. She has had at least two homes in her short life and her present owner has ill health and is unable to give her the attention and exercise that she needs. Poppy is house trained and sleeps inside. She is a very friendly dog, who is used to the neighbours children. She is good with other dogs, but is not living with a cat in her present home. She pulls a bit on the lead, but she has a good recall. Poppy-Angel has a brilliant temperament and is not as boisterous as a springer or working type Cocker. She travels well in the car.

JESS

JESS

Jess is about 10/11 years old and is a blue roan show type Cocker. She has come to CAESSR as her owner is very poorly and can no longer look after her. She is at present in a temporary foster home recovering from a major operation. She has had two large growths removed. Jess is urgently looking for a permanent foster home. She is a very friendly dog who is good with other dogs. She is very affectionate and loves to be cuddled. She is always ready for a little walk when someone puts on a coat. Jess is quite a fussy eater and is best given soft food. We think she has a cataract growing on one eye. Further updates to follow on her progress.

MIA

MIA

Mia is a 15 month old Black and White working type Cocker. She needs a new home as there are three cats in her family and Mia dislikes them and has attacked them. She is also aggressive over her food. She is looking for an experienced Cocker home, where her owner has firm house rules. Mia is brilliant when outside the home and will need lots of outdoor activity and stimulation. She is well behaved when off lead, but still pulls a bit when on the lead. Mia has not lived with children. She is behaving well with the other dogs at our kennels. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
