Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

JESS

JESS

Jess is a 5.5 year old Liver and White Springer. Her owner now lives alone and is working very long hours and Jess desperately needs a better life. Jess is brilliant with children, but needs to live as an only dog as she is not good with other dogs in an enclosed space - she won't share her owner with another dog. She is fine playing with other dogs outside the home. She has not lived with a cat. Jess is quite good on the lead, but pulls a little and can be controlled on a harness or halti lead. Her recall is good. She can be an excitable traveller. Although, at present, she is left long hours she doesn't really like it.

LUCY (was Bailey)

LUCY (was Bailey)

Bailey will be 10 years old in July and is a female, Ginger show type Cocker. Her owner is now a single parent with two very young children and she can't give Bailey the attention and time she deserves. Bailey is trustworthy with the children. She is used to cats and is good with other dogs. She has become a bit protective of her owner and barks if someone is at the door or if there is a noisy vehicle outside. She pulls a bit on the lead. She isn't very good at being recalled and prefers to come back when she wants to. She also tends to bark at other people so her owner is cautious when taking her off the lead. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

TYLER

TYLER

Tyler is a 14 year old Chocolate working type Cocker, who is urgently looking for a loving home as his family have to move into rented accommodation. Tyler has always lived with the same family and has been living with 4 small children, who love to play ball with him. Tyler has not lived with a cat or with another dog. He walks quite well on the lead, just pulling initially. His recall is good, but sometimes it takes a few calls before he returns. He doesn't like being left home alone for more than a couple of hours - he will start to bark. Tyler is a little over-weight and has a flaking skin problem that is being addressed. He will also be groomed prior to rehoming.

Tyler has been with a foster family for a month, they say he is a perfect companion. All he wants is his food, plenty of exercise and to chill out. He doesn't act his age! He is fine with small children and cats. His recall is perfect. He pulls a bit on the lead and walks with you if off lead. He will run forever with a ball on the fields.

BUZZ

Buzz is a 21 month old Black and White Springer, who needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. He is used to children. He is good with other dogs he meets outside the home. On a couple of occasions he has stood his ground when another dog came up to him in an unfriendly manner. He has no cat experience. He pulls a bit on the lead and when off-lead his recall is fairly good most of the time. He travels well in the car and can be left home alone for a couple of hours.

LUCY

LUCY

Lucy is a 2.5 year old Black and White Springer. She has lived within the same family since a puppy, but has been passed around various family members and is now looking for a very loving, patient home. She is used to children and has lived with other dogs, but has no cat experience. Lucy hates loud noises and is afraid of people with walking sticks. She doesn't like to walk on the lead. She will allow you to put the lead on, but is too afraid to walk out of the gate. She hates going in the car. Again, she will get in, but is very reluctant. Lucy has been taken to our vet by our dog psychologist for a health check and behaved well once in the surgery. She can be left for short periods. Lucy urgently needs an experienced home with people who have lots of time to sort out her problems.

RIN (was Rafa)

RIN (was Rafa)

Rafa is an 11 month old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home due to a change in his owner's working situation. He is a very active dog, who is very boisterous. He is good with children, but would knock over young ones. He hasn't lived with another dog or with a cat. He pulls on the lead. His recall needs work. He wants to run towards other dogs and to chase birds and rabbits. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

GEORGE

GEORGE

George is almost 6 years old and is a Golden show type Cocker. His owners have separated and their Mum has taken on George's care, but she has a female westie and a cat and they are both not happy to have George around. George has become very attached to her, but she has to return to work and she feels that he wouldnt be happy being left home alone. She also can't leave the two dogs together unattended. George is used to children. He hates cats. He doesn't walk well on the lead until he has had a good run. His recall is good. He travels well in the car.

LEIA (was Holly)

LEIA (was Holly)

Holly is an 8 month old Liver and White Springer. Her retired owners feel that they made a mistake in taking her on. She needs to live in a rural environment and needs stimulation and maybe another dog to play with - she is a very active dog. Holly is used to visiting children. She is very good with other dogs, but has no cat experience. She pulls on the lead - her owners use a halti. They haven't tried letting her off the lead so her recall will need training. She understands basic commands. She travels well in the car and is OK if left home alone just for 1 or 2 hours.
