Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

ROSIE

ROSIE

Rosie is almost 5 years old and is a Gold and White working type cocker. Her owner is now working very long shifts and Rosie is very stressed and is having accidents in the home. She lives with an older female cocker but the two don't bond. Rosie is a nervous dog - especially when meeting people for the first time. You have to let her come to you. She is good at the groomers but sometimes needs to be muzzled at the vets. She has an extra claw on one foot. Rosie is used to a young grandchild. She is good with other dogs but has no cat experience. She is quite good on and off the lead. She travels well in the car.

SNOOP

SNOOP

Snoop is an 18 month old black & white Springer X Cocker. His owner has changed her work hours and is unable to give him the time that a boisterous young dog needs. Snoop has not had much contact with children but seems to want to interact with them when on walks. He lives with another older female dog. Snoop loves his food and will pull food off worktops if it is left too close to the edge. He has no experience of cats. He can also guard bones and long-lasting chews - so is not now given those. He pulls a lot on his lead but is better on a halti lead. His recall needs more work. Snoop travels well in the car and has been left for 2/3 hours but he had the other dog for company.

PEPPER

PEPPER

Pepper is a 15 year old black show type cocker. Her elderly owner is now not able to look after her. Pepper is currently in a CAESSR temporary foster home and she is now looking for a permanent foster home. She is a lovely dog who doesn't act her age. She has a slight heart murmur - typical for a dog her age. She is also blind but doesn't seem to realize that she is blind! She barks a bit when in a new situation but soon stops when she feels comfortable. She is good with other dogs and cats and she has met her carer's grand-children. She is enthusiastic when walked on lead but is never let off lead and she travels well in the car.

ARTHUR

ARTHUR

Arthur is a 3 1/2 year old black working type cocker with a little white on his chest. He needs a new home due to work commitments. The owner's parents used to help with his care but can no longer do so. Arthur is brilliant with 2 young nieces who visit. He is good with other dogs but is not used to cats. He is a very playful dog and loves his toys but can steal shoes, soft toys or the TV remote and will sit on the laptop computer if you are too busy to play! Arthur pulls a bit on the lead but is amazingly good when off lead. He loves to travel in the car and will stay home alone for short periods.

DOLLY

DOLLY

Dolly is about 3 1/2 years old and is a liver Springer X Cocker Spaniel. She was handed in at a vets in a terrible state having had puppies. She was suffering from Mastitis. She was in a lot of pain and was very frightened. Her treatment was started and she came to CAESSR. We know nothing of her history but she seems to be a lovely dog.

HAWK

HAWK

Hawk is just turned 10 years old and is a black working type cocker. His owner now goes away a lot and Hawk needs a new family who can give him the attention that he deserves. Hawk has been a very good gun-dog who needs a retirement home. He is brilliant with the owners young grandchildren. He is good with other dogs but has not lived with a cat. He has always slept in the house so he is house trained. He is good on the lead after an initial reminder to walk to heel. He will normally come back to call or whistle when off lead. However, he now won't return when game scent is in his nostrils - so his working days are over! Hawk travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

DORA (was Maisey)

DORA (was Maisey)

Maisey is about six years old and is a liver & white springer. Her owner is now too elderly to take care of her. We are looking for a very experienced springer home for Maisey. We are told that she was abused in her first life and was also used for breeding. She is still a scared dog who takes time to get to know new people. At kennels she will now go for a walk with the kennel staff but she is scared of noises. If she meets people she drops to the ground. We are told that she is good with children. She loves to have a ball and can retrieve. She travels well in the car and can be left home alone just for short periods.

TRICKY

TRICKY

Tricky is an 11 year old golden show type cocker. His owner's life style has changed and Tricky needs better care in his old age.Tricky loves people, children and other dogs. He also has lived with a cat. He is excellent on and off the lead. He travels well in the car. He doens't really like being left home alone but can manage for an hour or two.
