Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Pepper is a three year old Black and White Springer. She needs a new home as the owner's wife has returned to work and cannot devote the time and company to Pepper. She is a fantastic family pet, who likes lots of fuss and attention and is very used to children. She is good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. She pulls on the lead, but loves to be off lead and will come back, but likes to chase birds if on the beach. Pepper travels well in the car and can be left home alone for short periods.
Bruce is a 5 year old Black working type Cocker, who needs a new home due to his owner's change in life-style and work committments. Bruce is a very energetic dog, who loves his walks and loves playing with tennis balls. He hates loud noises, such as fireworks and gun noises. He can get a bit over excited at times and pinches things and is then posessive with them. Bruce is good with children, but is possibly best with older ones only. He is good with other dogs, but is not good with cats. He pulls on the lead. His recall is very good unless a loud bang causes him to try and run away. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Milo is a 20 month old Blue Roan working type Cocker. His owners are finding it hard to cope as they have a baby and Milo is unable to be left alone - he has bad separation anxiety. He is good with other dogs but has not lived with a cat. He can walk quite nicely on a lead and his recall is fairly good. Milo travels well in the car.
Buddy is a 9 year old Liver and White Springer. His owner is seriously ill and not allowed to keep a pet and also is unable to exercise Buddy. Buddy is really good and calm with children. He loves to have a garden and to play with his toys. He has been sleeping outside in a kennel in the summer and inside the house in the winter. He is house trained. He has not lived with a cat, but is good with other dogs. Although 9 years old, he still needs lots of exercise and still does pull on the lead. He is good when off lead, but sometimes doesn't want to come back immediately! He travels well in the car. Buddy is an ideal family dog.
Poppy is a small Black and White Springer with a docked tail. She is approximately 6 to 7 years old. She has come to CAESSR via a couple who rescued her, but then couldn't afford the veterinary costs to give her the quality of life she deserves. It seems that Poppy had been passed from one person to another and was originally going to be put to sleep as she was now no use for breeding or working. Poppy has had many litters of pups, her teeth were in a terrible state - she must have been in pain. Most of them have had to be removed. Poppy is a fantastic natured dog - good with other dogs. She is very obedient and travels well in the car.
Tigger is a 21 month old Golden show type Cocker. He is a beautiful dog, but he has been growling at a six year old child. The family are also moving and can't have Tigger with them. He is good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. He pulls on the lead and his recall needs more work as sometimes he takes a while to come back. He is house trained and sleeps inside and can be left for short periods.
Alfie is a 15 month old Black and White Springer. He has hip dysplasia and dislodged knee-caps. When he walks his bottom almost touches the ground. It is possible to operate on his knees one at a time - so he needs a foster home. Alfie is good with children, cats and other dogs. He is good on the lead and his recall is good if you whistle three times. He travels well in the car. Alfie had four homes in one week-end before arriving at CAESSR.
Sweep is a 3½ year old Blue Roan show type Cocker. His owner is a single parent, now having to work full-time and Sweep can be quite anxious when left home alone. He is used to children of all ages and is used to living with a cat, but hasn't had much socialisation with other dogs. Sweep pulls on the lead and is not very good when off lead - he won't always come back when called if he is busy enjoying himself! He travels well in the car. Sweep is being socialsied with other CAESSR dogs while at our kennels.
