Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Buster is a 2 year old Black and White Springer x King Charles Spaniel, who looks like a Springer with shorter legs. Buster is a fantastic dog in the house, but he is too strong on the lead for his owner to manage. He pulls and barks a lot when on his lead if he sees another dog. His recall needs training. In our kennels Buster is behaving well with the other dogs. He is used to children, but will chase a cat. He can be left for short periods. When travelling in the car he whines at first and then calms down.
Bracken is a 16 month old Liver and White Springer. His owner is emigrating and it wouldn't be fair to take Bracken. He was taken on by this owner recently as a favour to a family who had to move into accommodation where they couldn't keep a dog. Bracken is a lovely, well socialised young Springer, who is used to children, other dogs and cats. He loves his walks and likes to swim. His recall is good and he knows how to walk properly on the lead, if reminded. He loves going in the car and can be left for short periods.
Harvey is a 4 year old Liver and White Springer. His owner lives alone and used to be able to take Harvey to work with him. He is now unable to do so. Harvey loves to chase a ball and is very affectionate. He is afraid of thunder. He is good with children and other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. He walks quite well on a halti lead and is good off lead. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Teal is a 10 year old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. Teal is a fully trained working gundog, who is fit and healthy and would still enjoy doing a little bit of work. He is looking for a loving retirement home and will need to be house-trained as he has lived in an outside kennel. Teal is good with children and other dogs. He is OK around livestock, but has not lived with a cat. He is an obedient dog, who loves travelling and will get bored if not given plenty of walks. Teal is a very friendly dog, who likes to be close to his humans.
Moss is a 22 month old Black and White Springer. Since her owners bought her as a pup they have not been able to walk her and to socialise her properly due to an accident to one of her owners. Moss has an extremely nervous personality and she shows aggression to humans and other dogs until she knows to trust them. Since she arrived with CAESSR, Moss has been with our trainer, who she now trusts and is beginning to bond with. She has been walked through a busy market and behaved well. We are looking for a very experienced home for Moss, with no children or visiting children. She will need someone who is around most of the time, who will have the patience to continue the work that our trainer has started. She travels well in the car, but has only been on short journeys.
Moss is progressing very well at our kennels. She bonds very quickly once introduced to new people. She still doesn't make friends with some other dogs, but is generally OK with the other Spaniels at our base.
Braken is a 10 year old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. Braken is a fully trained working gundog, who is fit and healthy and would still enjoy doing a little bit of work. He is looking for a loving retirement home and will need to be house-trained as he has lived in an outside kennel. Braken is good with children and other dogs. He is OK around livestock, but has not lived with a cat. He is an obedient dog, who loves travelling and will get bored if not given plenty of walks.
Braken is now urgently looking for his new home. He has undergone surgery to remove a plastic bag and rag from his stomach that had been there for some time. He is recovering well.
Millie is a 10 year old Cocker X King Charles Spaniel, who is more Cocker size. She has lived in her present home for a year after her owner passed away. However, the Yorkshire Terrier already in the home attacks Millie so they have to be kept separated, which is not fair to Millie. Millie is a lovely friendly dog, who loves children. She loves her walks and enjoys running off lead when her family go biking. She has not lived with a cat. She is good on and off the lead. Millie has recently had a full health check. She just has a fatty lump that doesn't need attention. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Milo is a 2½ year old Chocolate working type Cocker. He is too lively for his owner, although he is quite lovely and docile when in the home. Milo is an energetic dog, who needs more training, both on and off the lead. He is used to children and good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
