Monty is a 21 month old black working type cocker. His owners now have four children and are unable to give him the time and exercise that he deserves. Monty is good with children but if they get too noisy he takes himself away to a quieter space. He is good with other dogs but can be a bit wary of large dogs. He has not lived with a cat. He can walk well on a lead but gets excited initially and will pull. He runs off-lead in a large open field. He travels well in the car. Monty can bark when left home alone and is usually only left for short periods for the school run.

Lexi is a 5 year old Liver and White Springer. Her owner is working longer hours and the neighbours are complaining about Lexi's barking. Lexi is left in her crate and destroys her bedding. She is bored and her owners admit that she is crated far too much. Lexi is used to children. She is good with the cat and is good with other dogs. She takes treats gently from the children, but she is a fussy eater. Her owners have no time to train her. She pulls a lot on the lead using her back legs to pull harder. Her recall needs work, but she won't loose you. She travels in a crate in the car, but gets restless and agitated.

Teddy is a 7 year old black and White working type Cocker. His owner has moved into rented accommodation where a pet is not allowed and there is also a change in working hours. Teddy is a lovely dog, who is used to children. He is good with other dogs and is used to cats. He is a little over-weight. He doesn't like being left home alone for more than an hour or two. He pulls on the lead but he is improving and his recall is good. He travels well in the car, but likes to sit on a seat or lie in the foot-well.

Linda is a 5 year old Chocolate working type Cocker with White on her chest. She needs a new home as she is very nervous around the new baby in the family. Linda will chase cats and she is quite nervous around other dogs. She will lie down if another dog comes up to her on a walk. Linda is looking for a quiet experienced home where she will be the only pet. She is usually good when she is off lead, but if she picks up a scent or sees a bird her recall is a bit slow. Linda loves to swim. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

Lia is a 7 year old Black working type Cocker with a White blaze on her chest. She has come to CAESSR having been a working gundog and is now looking for a new home as a pet. She may not be house trained. She would probably be best suited to a home where she will be the only dog as she is not brilliant with other dogs, especially other females.

Archie is a 9.5 year old Black and White working type Cocker. His owner has been made homeless and cannot find somewhere to live that will accept dogs. Archie has always lived with the same owner. There is now a young child in the family, who Archie will allow to pat him - but he generally keeps out of the child's way. He has not lived with another dog or with a cat. Archie has a sensitive stomach and is fed on a special food. He occasionally gets a sore ear, which needs treating with ear-drops. At present, Archie lives in a flat and he would love to have his own garden and someone who is around most of the day. He is quite good on the lead, but will pull if he sees a cat or a squirrel. He is fairly good off lead, but is sometimes a bit slow to return. He travels well in the car.

Henry is a small 9 year old Blue Roan show type Cocker. He is urgently looking for a new home. His owner needs to help with an elderly relative and with her grandchildren and Henry is getting more and more anxious when left home alone. He needs a better life with more company in his latter years. He is OK with the small grandchildren, but he is jealous and attention seeks by howling. He is good with other dogs, but has no experience with cats. He is OK on the lead, but pulls initially with excitement. His recall is usually good. He had a visit to his vet at the beginning of the year with a bout of Spondylitis. He is OK now and is able to climb the stairs. He travels very well in the car.

Bonzo is a 17 month old Black working type Cocker. His owners' change in work hours means that Bonzo is spending long hours alone and this isn't fair. Bonzo has a brilliant nature and is very excitable and adventurous. He is quite sensitive and doesn't like raised voices. He is looking for a quiet active home. He hasn't had contact with children, but he has lived with a cat and is good with other dogs outside the home. Bonzo pulls on the lead but does understand "Heel". He has good recall unless there are birds or sheep and he will only return when he has finished chasing. He travels well in the car and can be left just for short periods.
