Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

TOM

TOM

Tom is a 17 month old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home as he has been fighting with his litter brother, especially at meal times. He is generally a calm and loving dog, but he has bitten his litter brother over food as the two dogs are trying to demonstrate that they are top dog. Tom is quite a tall Springer, who has a nervous personality. He is scared of traffic and was quite frightened when he first arrived at kennels. He is now fine and mixing well with the other dogs. He is used to children, although very excitable at first. He hasn't lived with a cat. He pulls on the lead, but is controllable. His recall is good and he travels well in the car. He can be left for short periods, but has always been left with his brother.

SKYE

SKYE

Skye will be 6 years old in July and is a Liver and White Springer, whose family have a young baby and feel that she is not getting the attention and exercise that she deserves. Skye is wary of other dogs. When walking, she will try and get as far away from another dog as possible - otherwise she may lunge and bark - just out of panic. Skye has been spending some time with our trainer and she is now socialising well with the other dogs. If a stranger approaches her she shows signs of anxiety - so she needs to be left to approach them first for pats, when she is ready. Skye is used to children. She pulls on the lead. She is very good off lead and can retrieve. Skye always wants to please. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods - but will make herself comfortable on the sofa if allowed in the lounge. She is urgently looking for a new home.

BARNEY

BARNEY

Barney is a 5 year old Liver and White Springer. His owner has now to work longer hours and is unable to give him the exercise that he needs. Barney is a loyal loving dog. He is used to children of 10 years upwards. He has not lived with a cat, but he is living with another Springer and a Labrador, where he is "top dog". Barney may enjoy all the fuss and attention to himself. He pulls a lot on the lead. He is very good when off lead - he constantly comes back to check on his owner and will return to his name or his owner's whistle. He tends to chew when he gets very excited. Also, Barney doesn't like his paws being touched. He can be left for short periods, but is used to having the other dogs for company. He travels well in the car, but can get very excited.

OLIVER

OLIVER

Oliver is a 10 month old Chocolate working type Cocker with his full tail. He needs a new home as he is showing aggression towards his family, but has never bitten. He also has been chasing the cat. He has quite a dominant personality and the lady of the house is not in good health and can't cope. Oliver has not been allowed to sit on the sofa. He is not food aggressive, but is possessive with items that he steals. He is good on and off the lead and can retrieve a ball. He is house trained. He travels well in the car. Our kennel manager feels that Oliver may be suitable to train as a working gun-dog.

ANGUS

ANGUS

Angus is a three year old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. He is a very affectionate dog, who is used to children, cats and other dogs. He is fairly well behaved on the lead and his recall is good. He travels quite well now, but used to be a bad traveller. he can be left for short periods.

JEMIMA (now Jemma)

JEMIMA (now Jemma)

Jemima is an 18 month old Black working type Cocker. The owner has had to move into her parents' home and there is no space for Jemima and her litter brother Dock. Jemima is a very loving dog, who is used to living and sleeping in an outside kennel. She is not house trained. She is good with children and other dogs and is used to cats. She has also seen livestock and is OK. Jemima is very obedient on and off the lead and travels well in the car.

LIBBY

LIBBY

Libby is a 5 year old Black working type Cocker. She was bought for an 80 year old lady, who can't cope with her. Libby is a gorgeous dog, with a lovely personality, who has been used for breeding. She is good with other dogs and is house trained. Libby has not had any experience of going for walks on a lead and enjoying life running free in woods or on beaches.

JASPER

JASPER

Jasper is a 10 month old Golden show Cocker. He needs a new home as he is fighting with an older dog in the family and the owner was bitten when separating the dogs. He was taken to the local vets to be put to sleep but they handed him to CAESSR for rehoming. We know little of his history.
