Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Monty is a 9 month old Sable show type Cocker. His owner bred a litter to keep a puppy, but has had several bereavements in the family and has not been able to vet the homes for the rest of the litter. Monty is house trained. He pulls on the lead as he hasn't had much training or experience. He is used to running free in the owner's garden. He travels well in the car.
Jet is a 3 year old Black working type Cocker with a little White on his chest. He is a fully trained working gundog, who is used to sleeping outside in his kennel. The owner's wife is seriously ill and Jet is not getting the exercise and attention that he needs.
Rosie is a 6 year old Blue Roan show type Cocker with a docked tail. She needs a home where she will be the only dog as she has become quite bossy with other dogs in the home. Her owner finds her hard work as she is a very active dog. She pulls on the lead. She loves running free and can go out of sight, but has never lost her owners. Her coat is high maintenance and as her owner suffers with fibromyalgia, she finds it painful to look after. Rosie is brilliant with children. She is good with other dogs outside the home, but has not lived with a cat. She loves car travel and can be left for short periods.
Ted is an 8 year old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home as his owner is crippled and was crawling to feed him and let him out. Ted has lived outside in a kennel and run, but is very clean in his kennel. He was very much loved by his owner. He is a very placid, laid back dog, who is good with children, other dogs and cats. Unfortunately he is suffering with sarcoptic mange on his face. This is contagious to other dogs and at present he is in isolation at our kennels and undergoing treatment by a visiting vet nurse. We estimate that it will be about September before he will be clear. He is urgently looking for a new home.
Mia is a 7 year old dark Blue Roan show type Cocker. Her owner is looking after an elderly father and can't always find time to give Mia the walks that she deserves and she doesn't have a secure garden for Mia to wander around. She is docile and very sweet natured. She is good with children and with other dogs. Mia has not lived with a cat. She is good when on the lead but doesn't always come back when called when off lead. Her recall will need some work. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Beth is a 9 month old Golden show type Cocker. Her owner bred a litter to keep a puppy, but has had several bereavements in the family and has not been able to vet the homes for the rest of the litter. Beth is house trained. She pulls on the lead as she hasn't had much training or experience. She is used to running free in the owner's garden. She travels well in the car.
Freddie is a 12 month old Black working type Cocker. He needs a new home as his owners are worried about the safety of their three young daughters. Freddie is very territorial in the home and has bitten Mum, when she tried to retrieve something from his mouth. He is a little nervous when meeting new people and is a bit wary of other dogs, but is very submissive towards them. He has not lived with a cat. He pulls on the lead and if off lead he will come back to his name for a treat unless distracted. Freddie can be left for short periods as long as chewable objects are removed. He doesn't travel well on long journeys - he can be sick, but this may improve as he gets older and more used to it.
