Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

MEG

MEG

Meg is an 8 1/2 year old red & white working type cocker spaniel. Meg has recently been fighting with the female retriever that she lives with. She is used to children and is good with other dogs she meets on walks. Meg has been living in an outside kennel but is house trained and is used to coming inside the home. She is a trained gundog so is good on and off the lead. She will chase birds. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

DYLAN

DYLAN

Dylan is just turned 9 years old and is a liver & white springer spaniel. His owner has become seriously ill and can no longer look after him. He has had plenty of interaction with children and is fine but would be too lively around very young children. He has not lived with a cat and would possibly chase. Dylan has lived all of his life with his litter brother Sam and has been the more confident of the pair. He can occasionally snap at other dogs when out walking on his lead. He pulls a lot on his lead and is better when walked on a harness but he doesn't like wearing it. Dylan has good recall when off lead. He travels well in the car and can be left for 2 to 3 hours home alone but has always had Sam for company.

THEO (LEO)

THEO (LEO)

Theo is a 9 year old liver & white springer. His family rescued him about a year ago via a friend who said that he was being abused by his owner. Theo likes to play with the lad in the family and becomes very excited. There was an incident recently where the boy's hand was bitten. It may be best that Theo is homed with no children or visiting children.

Theo is now with CAESSR and is a very friendly boy. He has met cats. He pulls on the lead and mostly comes back when off lead. He travels well and has been on a bus. He is OK when left home alone but hasn't recently been left for more than an hour or two.

SAM

SAM

Sam is just turned 9 years old and is a liver & white springer spaniel. His owner has become seriously ill and can no longer look after him. Sam loves children. He can get excited around them and small children could get knocked over but he is more likely to lick them. It is unsure how well he would socialize with other dogs as he was attacked by another dog as a puppy and he is a bit wary now of other dogs. Sam has always lived with his litter brother Dylan and sometimes growled at him if he has his toy. Dylan ignores him. He would possibly chase cats. Sam is very good on the lead and knows how to walk to heel. He is not too good with recall but he will return eventually. Sam loves his ball and can retrieve. This helps with his recall. He travels OK in the car and can be left home alone for a couple of hours but has had his brother for company.

KAI

KAI

Kai is almost 8 years old and is a liver & white springer spaniel. His owner has had an accident and can no longer look after him. Kai has been a working gun dog but lives in the home and is house trained. He needs to loose some weight. He is a very intelligent dog who knows how to open doors. He travels well in the car and can be left home alone for short periods.

DJ (Teddy)

DJ (Teddy)

Teddy is a 4 1/2 year old liver & white springer. His present owners have only had him for 12 months. They are unable to keep him as both of their young children are severely autistic and Teddy is growling at them.

Teddy is now with CAESSR. He is a lovely friendly dog who may best be homed where there are no children or visiting children. In 2016, Teddy was diagnosed with "short ulna syndrome". His front legs are not bad enough to need surgery. He pulls initially on the lead with excitement and his recall is good. He travels well in the car and can only be left for an hour or two. (His first owner didn't work).
