Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

BARNEY

BARNEY

Barney is a 5 year old Chocolate working type Cocker. He is not getting on with a male Boxer dog in the family. They fight over everything, toys, their owners' attention etc. and they can't even be walked together. Barney is cocking his leg on the furniture and is now living in the kitchen away from the other dogs. There is also an older male Cocker in the family and Barney is fine with him. The boxer is the newest addition to the family. Barney has not lived with children but is OK with occasional visiting children. He will chase cats and birds. He walks well on the lead unless he is approaching the field where he can run free. He has excellent recall and runs in big circles and can retrieve a ball. He has done his Bronze Kennel Club Award training, but is no good at agility. He can be left for short periods and travels well in the car.

RUPERT

RUPERT

Rupert is a 3 year old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home as the two male Setters that he lives with are being dominant towards him and he is a very unhappy dog. Rupert is a very quiet natured dog, who is submissive to other dogs. He is used to children and to cats. He is scared of chickens, but is used to horses, cows and sheep, but is kept on lead near to sheep, but his owner doesn't think that he would chase. He is excellent on the lead. If off lead he doesn't stray far from you. He travels well in the car and can be left home alone for an hour or two.

FREDDIE

FREDDIE

Freddie is a 3.5 year old Liver and White Springer with his full tail. He needs a new home as there is a new baby in the family and also a change in working patterns. His owners are finding it increasingly difficult to give him the time that he deserves. Freddie is brilliant with children. He is good with other dogs and is used to sharing his home with another male springer. He has not lived with a cat. He can pull on the lead - but is OK with the man of the house. He has excellent recall and responds to his owner's whistle. He travels well in the car and can be left for a short period. Freddie is a very laid back Springer and loves his cuddles and he loves his food! He is a good swimmer and will swim along beside you as walk along the canal tow-path. He can wee with excitement when greeting new people!

JASPER

JASPER

Jasper is an 18 month old Liver and White Springer. His owner is now a single parent and can't manage such a boisterous dog. Jasper is good with children, but will jump up at young ones and knock them over. He hates cats and will bark at rabbits, but is very sociable with other dogs. Jasper doesn't like being left home alone - he will bark and become a bit destructive. His owner only left him for a couple of hours at the most. He pulls a lot on the lead and has not been trained for off-lead exercise. Jasper is house-trained.

RUTH (was Lady Bei)

RUTH (was Lady Bei)

Lady Bei is a 2 year old Liver and White Springer. She needs a new home as her owners are now both working full time. Lady is used to children. She is good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. She sleeps upstairs in the bedroom in her own bed. She pulls a little at the start of a walk and then calms down. She loves to be off lead and her recall is generally very good. At the start of a journey she is a noisy traveller, but she settles down after a while. She is OK if left home alone for short periods.

MARLEY

MARLEY

Marley is an 18 month old Orange Roan working type cocker with his full tail. He needs a new home as the family have no time to train such a boisterous dog. The daughter bought Marley and he doesn't listen to her at all and Mum and Dad can only get him to listen every now and again. He rolls around and nips when they try to get his lead on. When brushing him he tries to get hold of the brush and hands get nipped, but he has never broken the skin. Marley likes to play with older children. He is good with other dogs, but has no cat experience. He pulls on the lead. His recall is OK if no other dogs/animals are around, otherwise he will run off to play. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.

FLORIN

FLORIN

Florin is a 9.5 year old Blue Roan show type Cocker. The owner has inherited her father's two young Retrievers. This has caused Florin to become very unsettled and stressed. The owner feels that she would be best in a new home where she will receive all the attention. Florin is used to children and cats and is good with other dogs. She is quite excitable on the lead and pulls a bit. Her recall is good when walked as an only dog. If you change direction she will return and follow you. She travels well in the car. She is rarely left home alone, but is OK for an hour or two for shopping trips. Florin came to CAESSR needing some dental work. She has had 12 teeth removed and is recovering well.

MOLLY

MOLLY

Molly is a 6.5 year old Liver and White Springer. She is fighting with another female Springer in the home. She would be a perfect dog if she was in a single dog household. Molly is used to cats and good with other dogs outside the home. She hasn't had much contact with children, but would be OK with older ones who are used to dogs. She is used to sheep, but is not good with chickens and will chase rabbits and squirrels when off lead. She then suffers with a bit of selective deafness, however her recall is generally good. She is very good on the lead, just pulling a bit. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
