Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Jessie is a 7 month old Liver and White Springer x Cocker. She belongs to a retired couple, who can't cope with a young energetic puppy. Jessie is a lovely natured dog, who is used to children, other dogs and cats, but she needs company as she doesn't like being left home alone. She is house trained, she is good on the lead and her recall is also good and she will return to a whistle. She travels well in the car.
Harvey is just 2 years old and is a Liver and White Springer x Cocker. His owners are now both in full time employment and are out of the house for long hours. Harvey is not happy at being left so long and is barking. He needs more attention, fuss and exercise. He is used to children of all ages. He is socialised with other dogs and with cats. He can pull when on his lead, but he is excellent when off lead and returns when called. He travels well in the car.
Georgie is a 7 year old Liver and White Springer. She has come to CAESSR via the Cinamon Trust as her owner has been taken into a care home. Georgie has been confined to just one room and only got outside when the Cinamon Trust walkers took her. - approx 30 minutes a day. We think she is house trained, but was using newspaper in the corner of the room. Georgie is possibly OK with children as a young grandchild visited her owner. She will chase cats, but is socialising well with the other dogs at our kennels. She is good on the lead - just pulling a bit to have a good sniff and follow scents. We don't know what she is like off lead. Georgie has one fatty lump. She is very frightened of visiting the vets and may need to be muzzled. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods. Georgie is urgently looking for a loving home so that she can enjoy life in the way that a Springer should.
Poppy is about 2 years old and is a Black and White Springer Spaniel. She was found tied up to a school railings! She was taken to a vet that evening, where she gave birth to one still-born puppy. We know nothing of her history, but she is a very lively Springer, who seems to have a very friendly personality.
SNOOP is a 4yr old golden working type cocker spaniel. His family have a new baby who has allergies and also they can't now give him the time and exercise that he deserves. Snoop is very active and is a loyal companion. He is used to children of all ages and he loves to play with other dogs - he is used to going to Doggy Day Camp. He has not lived with a cat. Snoop gets anxious with loud bangs i.e. loose grids in the road that bang when cars drive over them. He is not very keen on the letterbox either! Snoop pulls on the lead and doesn't listen when off lead - so will need more training. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Ozzy is a 4 year old Liver and White Springer, who is now urgently in need of a very experienced home, where he will be the only dog. He has already had three homes in his life and the last home only had him for three months. He has never been socialised properly with other people and other dogs and has not had good training when on and off the lead. He pulls on the lead and his last owners did not have the confidence to let him off the lead. Ozzy is a very loving and quiet dog when in the home and is good with the teen-aged children that he knows and loves. He is good when left home alone. He understands "Sit" and "Stay" and is beginning to understand "Heel". He hasn't had much experience of travelling in a car. Ozzy is a medium sized dog with a docked tail and he can jump a 4 foot fence. He has not lived with a cat. When he is running in the paddock at kennels with the other CAESSR dogs he doesn't interact with them. He has a stand-offish approach.
Archie and Dougie are 16 month old Black Sprockers. They are litter brothers, who are identical and very bonded. Archie wears a green patterned collar and Dougie wears a blue one. They need a new home due to a family crisis. They are sociable, energetic dogs who love to play with a ball and love lots of fuss and attention. They are used to children of all ages. They are used to cats and are good with other dogs. They are fairly good on the lead, although Dougie can pull if excited. Their recall is good. They travel well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Bailey is a four year old Chocolate Roan working type Cocker. His owner has passed away and the owner's relatives cannot give him enough attention and exercise. Bailey is a lovely boy, who is good with other dogs. He is not used to children, but would probably be fine - he is a friendly well adjusted dog. He has not lived with a cat. Bailey is very good when off lead and pulls just slightly when on the lead. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods but will howl if left too long.
