Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Toby is a 7 year old Liver and White Springer. His owner's health is deteriorating so he is not getting the time and exercise that he deserves. Toby is used to children, but would prefer a home without children as he can be a little growly towards young ones. he is used to cats and has lived with another dog. Toby is a very loving dog, who craves attention. He pulls a lot on the lead, but does understand if told to stop. He is very good when off lead. He can be left home alone for short periods and he travels well in the car.
Gerri is a 6 year old Liver & White Springer. Gerri is a very loving dog but she has a tendency to attack small dogs for no obvious reason. She has lived in her present home for the last 2 years and she has done this now on four occasions. Her owners are expecting their first grandchild and do not think that Gerri will be trustworthy with small children although she is fine with the next door neighbours five year old child. Gerri has worked as a beating dog. She has not lived with a cat. She pulls on the lead. She will come back to a whistle if off-lead but can't be left off lead where there is likely to be small dogs. She travels very well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Gerri has been with the trainer at our kennels. She is now behaving herself well with all other dogs. She is a very loving and obedient dog who is now ready for a new home.
Florence is a 15 month old red show type cocker. She needs a new home as the only dog as she attacks the other cockers if food, toys or attention is involved. She lives with 3 other cockers. On her own she is loving and great fun. She shows no agression towards any other dogs just her pack members. She is very fit and loves her walks and cuddles. Florence has not lived with children. She is good on the lead. If off lead she will come to her name or to a whistle. She travels well in the car.
Archie is a 2 1/2 year old Liver and White Springer. His owner has become ill and can no longer give him the attention and long walks that he enjoys. Archie is good with children and other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. He pulls on the lead and usually comes back when off lead. He travels well in the car and can be left home alone for short periods.
Jacob is a 4 month old Liver & White Springer. His owner is finding it difficult to look after such a boisterous puppy. She works & also looks after a young grandchild and her husband didn't really want him anyway. Jacob is very loving and likes to play with other dogs. He is OK with children but not with very young ones as he knocks them over. He is fine off lead but pulls a lot on the lead. He is not fully house trained yet. He travels quite well in the car.
Buster is a 16 month old Black working type cocker. His owner has back problems and is unable to walk far and as a result Buster is bored and chewing and it is not fair that he is stuck inside all day. Buster is quite an anxious little dog due to his owner not managing to socialize him properly. If strangers come to the house they need to ignore him until he goes to them for affection. The owners have a young child who wants to hug Buster. Buster didn't like it and has nipped once - so he would be best in a quiet home away from young children. He is really good with other dogs and although used to a cat will chase it. He pulls on the lead. If off lead he will come back when called. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Trixie is a 7 year old Black show type Cocker with a little White on her head and tail. She was bought three weeks ago as a companion for a lady who lives alone, but she doesn't get on with other visiting family members' female dogs. Trixie also suffers with separation anxiety when left home alone and also at night if left downstairs. However, Trixie is a lovely friendly dog with people and children and is OK with dogs outside the home. We don't know whether she has lived with a cat. She is very good on the lead, but we don't know about her recall. She travels well in the car.
Lexi is a 3 year old Springer x Cocker, who is mainly Liver with a White patch on her chest. Her owners have a baby and are now working long hours and don't have the time to give her the proper exercise that she needs. Lexi loves squeaky toys and has the habit of jumping on the sofa. She is good with children and is used to cats and other dogs. She pulls on the lead and her recall needs work. She is a good traveller and can be left for short periods.
