Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Archie is almost 7 years old and is a Black show type Cocker. His owner is soon to be working and living abroad. Archie has been in the same family since a puppy, but has only lived with the owner for 18 months. He used to belong to the owner's daughter, who now has a young family. Archie is good with other dogs and brilliant with older children. He has not lived with cats. He is good on and off the lead. Archie is used to about three hours of walking a day - depending on weather conditions so will need active owners. He doesn't like being pestered by puppies or young dogs. He can sometimes be protective of things so he is not given a bone. He loves to play with a ball, but won't bring it back for you to throw it again. He travels well in the car and is only used to being left for a couple of hours.
Rocco is an Orange Roan show type Cocker, who will be three years old next January. His owner is an elderly lady, who bought him for company, but she has now had a fall and cannot manage. Rocco is a fairly large Cocker, who has had no contact with children and he hasn't lived with a cat. He is quite a strong dog, who likes to climb and jump. He hasn't been on a lead very much and can pull. He has never been off-lead outside his home - so he will require a lot of training. He also has not been properly house-trained. He has spent his days roaming free in a large paved garden and then at night has slept in a crate in a back kitchen. Rocco is an affectionate dog, who urgently needs a loving and understanding home. He is good with other dogs and has lived as one of a pack. He travelled well on his journey to CAESSR. He has only been left for a couple of hours and had the rest of the pack for company.

Huxley is a two year old Orange Roan show type Cocker. His owner is an elderly lady, who bought him for company, but she has now had a fall and cannot manage. Huxley has had no contact with children and he hasn't lived with a cat. He hasn't been on a lead very much and can pull. He has never been off-lead outside his home - so he will require a lot of training. He also has not been properly house-trained. He has spent his days roaming free in a large paved garden and then at night has slept in a crate in a back kitchen. Huxley is an affectionate dog, who urgently needs a loving and understanding home. He is good with other dogs and has lived as one of a pack. He has quite a nervous personality and must be homed with another well adjusted friendly dog to help him socialise and to give him confidence. He travelled well on his journey to CAESSR. He has only been left for a couple of hours and had the rest of the pack for company.
Bubbles is an 8 year old Liver & White Springer. The children in the family have become scared of dogs following an incident with a dog on the street so Bubbles is in need of a new home. He is good with children and is used to cats but hasn't had much socialization with other dogs. He has always lived in an outside kennel but until recently came into the house during the day. He used to be house trained. He pulls on the lead. His recall is good most of the time. He hasn't travelled much in the car and behaves well when left home alone - but he is rarely left. Bubbles came to CAESSR having just been groomed.
Bella is a 2 year old Blue Roan Springer X Cocker with her full tail, who needs a new home as she is attacking an older female Cocker in the home. She is good with other dogs, when outside the home, but may be best homed as an only pet so that she can receive all the attention. Bella has also attacked the cat. She has had no experience with young children, but would possibly be OK with older ones. She travelled well in the car when collected by a volunteer, but she had not been in a travel crate before. She is used to two or three walks a day including plenty of off-lead exercise.
Arthur is a 10 year old black show type cocker who needs a new home as his owner has sadly passed away. Arthur is good with visiting grand-children. He is used to cats and other dogs. He is good on the lead - just pulling at first and then he walks beside you. He needs more exercise as he is 2 kilos overweight. His recall is good. Arthur travels well in the car. He prefers to sit in the foot well rather than on the seat. He is quiet if left home alone for short periods.
Benji is a 10 month old Liver and White Springer. His family are moving to Cyprus, where they will be working longer hours and don't think that Benji would cope. Benji has a fairly nervous disposition and has had some disruption in his short life. He has been back to his breeder, who couldn't find the right home for him. He needs experienced owners, who can be around most of the time as Benji doesn't like being left home alone. He has lived with another dog and was left with this dog for a couple of hours at most. Benji is used to children, but has a few possessive issues so may be best homed with no younger children. He has also lived with a cat. He has slipped his lead and chased sheep so care must be taken around livestock. He pulls a bit on the lead. He is brilliant off lead and doesn't stray too far from you. He doesn't really like car travel and wants to sit on your lap. At our base Benji is a very enthusiastic puppy who loves lots of attention!
