Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Bess is a 12 month old Tri-colour show type Cocker and her litter brother Harry is Black and White. Their owners can no longer cope due to additional work commitments. Bess and Harry are used to older children. They are good with other dogs, but have no cat experience. Harry pulls a lot on the lead - he is the larger dog and Bess pulls a bit. Their recall is excellent. They travel well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Barney is a 9 month old liver & white springer. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. He would be fine with older children. He is good with other dogs outside the home and has no cat experience. He pulls a lot on the lead. His recall is already good. He travels well in the car and can be left just for short periods. He is looking for a family who can give him plenty of activity, stimulation and exercise.
Arran is an 8.5 year old Golden show type Cocker. He needs a new home as his owner has sadly passed away. He has a lovely temperament and may need to be homed with another dog for company as he was used to living with three other dogs. His coat was very matted and has been stripped - so will need to grow back. He is looking for an understanding home as he possibly hasn't seen a lot of "the big wide world".
Jack is an 8.5 year old black show type Cocker. He needs a new home as his owner has sadly passed away. He has a lovely temperament and may need to be homed with another dog for company as he is used to living with other dogs.
Percy is a 13 month old Golden working type Cocker. He needs a new home as one of his owners is seriously ill and the other has no time to give a young active dog the exercise that he needs. Percy is good with young visiting grandchildren, but has to be watched as he can snap if told to do something that he doesn't want to do i.e. to get off the sofa. He needs a firm experienced home. Percy is good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. He pulls a lot on the lead and will bark with excitement if he knows he is going to the woods, where he can run off-lead. His recall is excellent. He travels well in the car and is good if left home alone for short periods.
Rio is a 9 year old Black and Tan show type Cocker. She needs a new home as her owner has the start of memory loss and is unsteady on her feet. Rio is a lovely sociable dog, who is quite over-weight. She is a little deaf and has an ear canal removed due to a non-malignant growth. She is used to the owner's grandchildren. She loves being taken for her walks, but is kept on an extending lead. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Max is a 4 year old Black show type Cocker. His owners now have a crawling baby and Max seems scared of young children. He has also started to show aggression to the other dog in his home - a male King Charles Spaniel. Max is now living with the owner's parents and both dogs are a lot happier. He has quite a nervous personality and can cower and hide at times, but he is a very loving dog. He has lived with his family since he was 10 months old. When out walking off-lead he will mainly play happily with other dogs, but sometimes can growl and bark at another dog, but he has never bitten. He pulls a bit on the lead with excitement and his recall is good most of the time. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Monty is a 7 year old liver & white springer who needs a new home as his owner is elderly and can no longer give him the walks that he deserves. He is a lovely dog who is good with visiting grandchildren. He is good with other dogs but will chase cats. He travels well in the car and is house trained.
