Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Chip is a 3 year old Blue Roan show type Cocker. Due to a change in circumstances, his owner cannot manage to give him the life that he deserves. Chip is a lovely family dog who enjoys being with children. He is an incredibly social dog who needs lots of walking every day. He pulls on his lead but is better on a harness. His recall is good most of the time, but he can suffer from selective deafness if he picks up an interesting scent! He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Katie is a 9½ year old Liver and White Springer. She is a fully trained working gundog, who is now in need of a cosy retirement home. She is a lovely affectionate and obedient Springer, who is in very good health.
Jackson is a 2 year old Liver & White Springer. Unfortunately, his family have a new baby who was premature and has lung problems. Jackson has a skin condition that can cause him sometimes to loose his fur, so they can't bring the baby home while Jackson is there. Jackson's allergy is controlled with medication. His vet is certain it is not contagious but doesn't know what he is allergic to. Jackson is a very loving dog who plays well with other dogs. He is good around children but can get quite excitable. He is also used to cats. He is very well behaved both on and off the lead - but he does need lots of exercise. He travels well in the car and is good when left for short periods. He has the freedom of the downstairs when left home alone and sleeps upstairs at night.
Gercas is almost 2 years old and is a large Golden show type Cocker. His owner is working away and his wife can't manage to give him the exercise that he requires. Gercas is used to children and plays on the slide with them, however, he may be best with older children only. He is generally good with other dogs, but at our base he is being a bit dominant towards other male dogs - so he will be neutered. We don't know if he has lived with a cat. We have no more information as his family are not British and communication was difficult. Gercas seems to understand some commands in English.
Jake is a 2 year old black & white working type cocker with a white chest. He was rescued recently by the people who handed him in to CAESSR for rehoming. He was very thin and needed worming. He has been very well trained and has been a working dog with falconry. When in his working home he slept outside but was allowed indoors in the day. Jake loves children of all ages and is good with other dogs. He has never had toys but now loves his Kong. He walks on a loose lead and his recall is instant. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods. His rescuer says that he likes to be in the hedgerows and doesn't seem to like large outdoor spaces. She has health problems and couldn't access the places that he is comfortable with.
Smudge is a 2 year old Chocolate Roan Springer X Cocker. One of his owners is now ill and he is not getting the attention that he deserves. Smudge was originally rescued from a home where his family needed to take care of elderly parents. His owners have worked hard with him. He is used to children. He can still be a bit grumpy towards some dogs - especially black Labradors, but he loves to play with others! He is fairly good on the lead. If off-lead he can suffer with selective deafness! He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Macy is a 2½ year old Black show type Cocker. Her owner retired, but has gone back to work, so it is not fair that Macy has to spend all day on her own. Macy is good with other dogs and she is used to children of 11 years and above. She has not lived with a cat. She gets very agitated when fireworks are being set off, but whilst staying with a dog-minder and her two dogs she didn't bother so much. Macy pulls a bit on the lead, but is very good when off lead and likes to carry her lead. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Alfie is a 6 year old Golden show type Cocker. He needs a new home due to change in family circumstances and to allergy problems. He is a lovely boy, very loyal and cuddly. He is used to children and good with other dogs. He has not lived with a cat. He is good on and off the lead. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
