Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Alfie is a 5 month old Orange Roan show type Cocker. His owner is going back to work full-time. Alfie is also chasing the cat. He has no experience with children, but he is good around other dogs. Alfie still pulls on the lead. He has started his recall training, but has selective deafness if he finds a scent or sees a bird. He travels well in the car. Alfie has been born with a small hole in the heart. He has seen a heart specialist and has had an echo cardiogram. He will need to repeat this every year so we are looking for a home for him in Staffordshire, Cheshire, North Wales or Warwickshire. There is just a slight possibility that Alfie could need heart surgery in later life.
Max is a seven year old Liver & White Springer who sadly needs a new home as one of his owners has become severely allergic. Max is good with other dogs but has no cat experience. He is used to children. He is now a fairly quiet dog (for a springer!) who loves to carry something around. He is usually walked on a halti lead and walks reasonably well after the initial excitement. His recall is very good and a reward is always given. He travels brilliantly in the car and can be left for short periods.
Woody is a 5 year old Golden working type Cocker. He needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. He is fantastic with children. He has not lived with a cat. He can growl at other male dogs when he is on the lead, but he is fine with them when he is off lead. He has never attacked another dog. He is brilliant when off lead, but he pulls when on the lead and his owners use a harness. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Barney is a 5 year old Liver & White Springer who sadly needs a new home as one of his owners has become severely allergic. Barney is used to children and is good with other dogs. He has no cat experience. He pulls initially on the lead unless he is on a halti lead. When off lead he always stays within sight/hearing and will come back when called. He is always rewarded. He loves to chase and retrieve a ball and loves to swim. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods in the conservatory.
Daisy is a 19 month old Black working type Cocker, whose owners are working long hours and unable to give her the time and attention she deserves. Daisy is used to visiting children. She is good with cats and other dogs and just wants to play. She pulls on the lead with excitement. When off lead she comes back most of the time - but can scavenge. She travels well in the car and is OK if left for short periods.
Rupert is a two year old Red and White show type Cocker. His owner is an elderly lady, who bought him for company, but she has now had a fall and cannot manage. Rupert has had no contact with children and he hasn't lived with a cat. He hasn't been on a lead very much and can pull. He has never been off-lead outside his home - so he will require a lot of training. He also has not been properly house-trained. He has spent his days roaming free in a large paved garden and then at night has slept in a crate in a back kitchen. Rupert is an affectionate dog, who urgently needs a loving and understanding home. He is good with other dogs and has lived as one of a pack. He has quite a nervous personality and must be homed with another well adjusted friendly dog to help him socialise and to give him confidence. He travelled well on his journey to CAESSR. He has only been left for a couple of hours and had the rest of the pack for company.
Charlie is a 2 year old Liver and White Springer. He needs a new home as his owners have no time to give him the exercise that he needs. He is being left outside all day in a kennel and run. He is used to sleeping either in the house or outside in the kennel, but he is house-trained. Charlie hasn't had much contact with children, but he is very sociable with humans and other dogs. He has not lived with a cat. He is described as energetic when on the lead and his recall will need training. He travels well in the car and is looking for a home where he will receive a lot more stimulation and companionship.
Rosie is a 10 year old Chocolate Roan show type Cocker and Angel is a 7 year old Black and White show type cocker. They are mother and daughter. They need a new home due to a change in family circumstances. They have been living in an outside kennel so may need to be house trained. Their situation is quite urgent, before the weather gets too cold. They travel well in the car.
Rosie is a placid dog and is quite possessive with her ball. She has had two litters in the past. Her hearing is not too good, but she can hear a whistle. She is used to children of all ages. She is used to cats and other dogs. Rosie is good on the lead. If off lead she will always look back to see if you are still there.
Angel may pine if separated from her Mum. She loves her food. Unfortunately she suffers with Addison's Disease. Her medication costs about £20 per month and she needs regular blood tests. She was last checked two months ago and all was fine. Angel is used to children of all ages. She is used to cats and other dogs. She pulls a little on the lead and her recall is good.
