Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

HARVEY

HARVEY

Harvey is a 2 year old Red Cocker Spaniel, who needs a new home as his family need to move into rented accommodation. He is used to cats, but if they run, he likes to give chase: if they stand their ground, he walks away. He pulls a little on the lead at first with excitement and stays close if off-lead, but likes to chase birds. He doesn't like being shouted at and has nipped a couple of times. He does suffer a bit with Cocker Rage. However, he is a happy friendly dog if he lives in a kennel with a large outside area that he can have access to all day. His problems start when he is confined in a home or in an inside kennel. We are looking for someone with Cocker experience, who is prepared to give Harvey a chance to have a happy life.

RUBY

RUBY

Ruby is a 3 year old Golden show type Cocker Spaniel, who needs a new home as she has become possessive with her lady owner and is very jealous of three young children. She has nipped the children a few times over food related incidents. She is a well socialised dog with other dogs. She has been to training classes and likes to play. She is used to living with two kittens and plays well with them. She loves travelling in the car and going for walks and her recall is good. She is OK if left home alone for short periods.

DOROTHY

DOROTHY

Dorothy (Dot) is a lovely 6 year old Black working type Cocker with a White bib. She has a docked tail. She urgently needs a new home as there is a very sick child in her family. She is used to children and cats and is good with other dogs. She is a fairly small Cocker, but can still pull on the lead. She has a good recall and can be left happily for short periods. She is house trained and used to living inside and being left inside when home alone.

SCOOBY (now Robbie)

SCOOBY (now Robbie)

Scooby is a 16 month old Black and White Springer / Cocker X, whose owner can no longer keep him as she is in poor health. He lives happily with three children. He is good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. He is house trained and likes to sleep on t he landing and can be left for short periods. He pulls on the lead and his recall needs training. His family have only let him off lead once and he went running a long way from them! He travels well in the car, but can get a bit fidgety.

SAM

SAM

Sam is a 6 year old Liver and White Springer, who was given to the present owner four months ago as his family were expecting a baby. His present owners work and he is being left all day in the kitchen. Sam is brilliant with children. He is a very friendly, but very boisterous dog, who is good with other dogs. He has not lived with a cat or met livestock. He pulls on the lead. Since coming to CAESSR, we have established that Sam is deaf. We are  urgently looking for someone with a very large garden so that he can have safe running exercise. He will need lots of lead walks and maybe to be trained with a vibrating collar. Sam is looking for someone who will give him the chance to enjoy life to the full in the way that a Springer should.

TOE (now FLO)

Toe is a 7 year old Liver and White Springer, who needs a new home as her owner has passed away. She was rescued by this owner, two years ago, when she had to have a toe removed and couldn,t continue as a working dog. Toe is good with children and other dogs and has been around livestock. She hasn't lived with a cat. She will walk to heel if on a short lead and her recall is good - but she can occasionally suffer from selective deafness. She travels well in the car.

BOND

BOND

Bond is a 10 year old Golden Labrador, who has come to CAESSR along with a young Springer. The pair are being left long hours due to a change in their owner's work committments. Bond is good with other dogs and used to children from toddlers up. He has not lived with a cat and along with his partner in crime has chased sheep in the farmers field next door! He is reasonable on the lead, has a good recall and travels well in the car.

MARKY (was Micky)

MARKY (was Micky)

Micky is a 7½ year old Liver and White Springer with his full tail. His owners work very long hours and Micky is lonely. Micky is good with other dogs. He has lived with teenaged children but has not lived with a cat. He is walked on a halti lead and only pulls a little and his recall is good most of the time. He travels well in the car although excited at first. He loves to play with a tennis ball although doesn't retrieve but he will let you take the ball from his mouth. Micky has been assessed in a foster home. He is looking for a quiet home as, when in the home, he likes to settle in his own space and be left alone. He is a fantastic and friendly dog when outside and enjoys life to the full.
