Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Sasha is just 8 years old and is a Tri-colour Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She has come to CAESSR via our dog psychologist as her owner cannot keep her. The owners new partner has a dog that doesn't like her. We don't usually rehome Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Sasha is delightful. She is used to children, other dogs and cats. She can be excitable on and off the lead, but her recall is good. She travels well in the car.
Ted is about 7-10 months old and is a small Black and White Springer. He has come to CAESSR via dog wardens in Lincolnshire. Ted was very hungry when he arrived at our base. He seems to be a pleasant dog and has been taken to our vet for vaccination and health check. He is mixing well with the other dogs at our kennels. We know nothing of his history so he cannot be homed with children.
Scarlet is a four year old Golden show type Cocker. She needs a new home as she is fighting with another female dog in the family. She is also quite nervous around the owner's young children. It is felt that she would be best as the only dog in the home. She is used to cats. Scarlet doesn't like to be left home alone for long periods. She is good on and off the lead, but her owner is a little wary when there are other dogs around. She travels well in the car.
Stanley is a 4 year old Liver and White Springer. He has come to CAESSR via Lincolnshire Dog Wardens. Although Stanley is micro-chipped his owner cannot be found. Stanley is a lovely friendly dog, but as we know nothing of his history we cannot home him with children. He is mixing very well with the other dogs at our base. Sadly, Stanley came to us with a very red, sore eye. He has been to see our vet and it is possible that he may loose his eye. At present he has eye drops for a week to see if there will be any improvement.
Harley is a 4 1/2 year old Liver & White working type cocker. He is a fantastic dog but deserves a better life as his owners have a baby and the man of the house works very long hours. His owners have another older dog and can't manage to walk both when pushing the pram. Harley loves his walks but broke his elbow 12 months ago and it has been pinned. All is OK now but his family prefer to exercise him on soft ground as he likes to play with his ball. Harley would be fine with teenage children and would live with or without another dog. He does chase cats. He can pull with excitement when on his lead. He is very good when off lead and is sociable with other dogs that he meets. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods. He has the run of the downstairs when left home alone.
Bonnie is a 6 year old Liver and White springer. Her owner has recently been poorly and can no longer care for her. Bonnie is good with children and with other dogs and cats. She pulls initially on the lead with excitement and then settles down. When off lead she won't go far from you. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods. Bonnie has problems with a weak bladder that needs investigation. She was also very traumatised when she first arrived with CAESSR.
Oliver is a 12 month old Liver and White Springer, who is part show type and part working. The owner initially fostered him for a friend and was then asked to keep him, but he has unsettled the owners' two Labradors. Oliver is a lovely dog, but he needs more training. he pulls a lot on the lead and has no recall. He is occasionally possessive over resources that he feels are valuable - he fought with one of the Labradors over a rabbit hole! Oliver is used to children, but not used to cats. He travels well in the car.
Barney is about 8-9 years old and is a Black working type Cocker with a bit of White on his chest. Barney is a lovely loyal dog whose owner is moving home and cannot take Barney with him. He loves everyone and smiles a lot and is very much a "man's dog". He is fit and healthy for his age and is good on the lead. If off the lead he is excellent. He burns up energy but comes back and loves to be called for a treat. He is used to children, cats, other dogs and livestock. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
