Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Alfie is a 5 1/2 year old black and white springer. He is looking for a new home as his owners are now poorly and unable to look after him. Alfie is very loving to his owners and loves a cuddle. However, he needs a home with no children and experienced owners. He does not like to be approached by other dogs and will snap and go for them. He is nervous when meeting new people but is getting better. He travels well in the car but is protective when in it. He is full of energy and loves to retrieve balls and sticks. His recall is good but his owners only let him off lead when no one is around. He needs a quiet home with no cats in a rural area. Behaviourist help will be available if required.
Jasper is a 3 year old Liver and White Springer. His owners have no time for him as they have a busy lifestyle and an expanding family. He is good with other dogs, but has no cat experience. He pulls on the lead. His recall is good. He travels well in the car, but gets stressed if left home alone too long.
Rolo is a 4 year old chocolate roan working type cocker. He needs a new home as he is a very needy dog who suffers from separation anxiety. He even barks when put in another room when someone is at home! He also bullies the show type cocker that he lives with. So, he is looking for an experienced home with no other dogs and where he will not be left. He is used to older children and has no cat experience. He has recently been placed in a foster home in a rural area but there was a female American cocker and Rolo was spooked by the noise of owls etc. He pulls on the lead but has excellent recall and he travels well in the car.
Bailey is a 3 year old Liver and White Springer. His owner cannot now give him the attention he needs due to work commitments and coping with a young child. Bailey pulls a lot on the lead and his recall needs training. He needs to be socialised with other dogs and he hasn't lived with a cat. He destroys items when left home alone too long. He travels well in the car.
Polly is a 7 year old lemon roan working type cocker. She has been a breeding dog living outside (having had two litters). She lives happily with six other working cockers. She has now been brought inside to live as a house dog and has become very protective of her owner and has started to snap at the two year old child in the family. Polly is very food oriented and is overweight and needs to be on a permanent diet. She is now house trained and is only left home alone for shopping trips. She is not used to cats. She is good on the lead. Her recall is reasonably good but she sometimes doesn't want to come in when having a run in their large garden. She travels well in the car.
Miley is a 20 month old Liver and White Springer. Her family are struggling to cope with such a boisterous young springer. Miley is brilliant with children. She is good with other dogs, but has not lived with a cat. She pulls a lot on the lead. Her recall is already quite good. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Miley has been with the police on a course to become a drugs search dog. Unfortunately, she has failed the last test. She is a very hyper-active dog and is looking for a new home where she will be given lots of stimulation and activity.
Charlie is an 8 month old Liver and White Springer, whose owner cannot manage to walk him properly as she has mobility problems. He is a lovely friendly puppy, but he needs a lot of training. He is very bouncy and would knock over young children. He still "mouths" when he wants you to play with him. He is a little over-weight, likes to dig in the garden and can wee with excitement. He has not lived with a cat and needs to learn how to play with other dogs. He pulls on the lead and can lunge at moving cars. His recall needs training. He travels well in the car and is not used to being left home alone yet.
Bess is almost 4 years old and is a lively Cocker X Springer, who needs more exercise and stimulation than her owner can manage. She is Black with White on her chest and is small Springer sized. Bess is used to older children - she would knock over young ones. She is good with other dogs, but has no cat experience. She would chase sheep. She is OK when left for short periods, but would get up to mischief - she rips up the post and will pull things off work-tops. She is quite food orientated and when off-lead will come back for a treat and she loves to play ball. She pulls constantly when on the lead. She is a clever dog, who may like agility or flyball and she travels well in the car.
