Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Peggy is a 3 year old liver & white springer. The owners have had two babies very close together and can't give Peggy the walks and attention that she needs. Peggy is is used to children and is good with other dogs. She has not lived with a cat. She is quite good when on the lead but does pull sometimes. Her owners use a harness. She has excellent recall. She loves her food which makes life difficult with toddlers around! She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods but is always waiting by the door for your return.
Phoebe is a 9 year old black working type cocker. She needs a new home as her owners are leaving the country. Phoebe is a lovely dog who loves fuss and attention. She can go up to people and bark to be patted. She is used to being the only dog and would suit an older couple. However, she is still very active and can manage a 10 mile hike! Phoebe is not good with young children. She has no cat experience but she is good with other dogs that she meets on walks especially the larger dogs. She is good on and off the lead. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Harvey is an 8 year old Black working type Cocker. He is living with two other dogs, one of which is a black Labrador and Harvey and the Labrador are fighting. The owner is not sure which of them starts the fight! Harvey is a lovely boy who likes lots of fuss and attention. He has met the owner's young grandchild and seems to be fine. He is good with other dogs outside the home but has not lived with a cat. He pulls a bit on the lead initially and is then better and his recall is good. He travels well in the car. He can be left home alone for an hour or two but he does prefer company.
Lupin is almost 2 years old and is a black working type cocker. He needs a new home as the owner's baby daughter has allergies to dog fur. Lupin is a lovely dog who is very lively and energetic. He is used to children and cats and he is good with other dogs. He pulls initially when on the lead. His recall is mostly good unless he is distracted by another dog. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Oscar is a 4 year old blue roan show type cocker. His owner has sadly passed away. The owner's wife is now working full time and coping with 3 young children. Oscar has been the family pet since a puppy and is used to being around the children and has a fantastic personality. He loves his food so is put out of the way when the children are eating. He pulls a bit on the lead when excited. His recall is good and his owner goes running with him. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Archie is a 13 month old light & dark golden working type cocker. His owners are now unable to give him the exercise that he needs. Archie is a nice natured dog but is very needy. He gets anxious even if his owners are elsewhere in the house. He can only be left for a very short period. He can wee with nerves if he gets anxious. He is good with other dogs and is submissive to them. He has no cat experience and has only occasionally met children. He walks reasonably well on the lead and his recall training is going well. He travels well in the car.
