Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month
Pearl is a two year old lemon roan working type cocker. She needs a new home as her owner has become ill and has moved to accommodation where he cannot keep dogs. Pearl is used to sleeping in an outside kennel so will need to be house trained. She is used to other dogs. She hasn't had contact with children or cats but is a very friendly girl.
Wilma is a 7 1/2 year old golden show type cocker. Her owner has an incurable cancer and is also looking after a grandchild in the daytime. Wilma is not used to babies and small children and is anxious and barks. Her owner cannot cope with the situation and Wilma needs someone who can give the attention that she deserves. She is used to other dogs but has no cat experience. She walks well on a harness and she will come back for treats when off-lead. She is a perfect traveller and can be left for short periods. Wilma has dry eye in both eyes and needs Optimmune drops twice daily. Her owner will contribute the cost to CAESSR so that CAESSR can pay for the medication.
Jeff is an 8 year old lemon roan working type cocker. He has been a working gundog but now needs an active rural home as a pet. His owner is poorly and has moved to accommodation where he can't keep his dogs. Jeff will need to be house trained as he has lived in an outside kennel. He is a lovely friendly boy who has been well trained. During his journey to CAESSR, he cut his ear on the travel cage and needed stitches. He has also had his teeth cleaned. He is used to living with other dogs. We don't know if he has had contact with children or with cats.
Rocky is an 8 1/2 year old liver & white springer with a docked tail. He needs a new home as his owner has become very ill. Rocky is being very protective of his owner - sensing that he is poorly and the owner's wife can't manage his behaviour. Rocky likes being around people although he is not used to children. He is good with other dogs but has not lived with a cat. His recall is good - he won't loose you. Rocky travels well in the car and can be left for short periods.
Molly is a 5 year old small black show type cocker. She was handed in at a local vets as she was found wandering alone. Her owner was traced and the vet was told that she was no longer wanted by the owner as he was unable to look after her. The vets groomed her as her coat was in a bad state and she has been vaccinated and health checked. Initially Molly was very frightened but she has settled in with CAESSR and seems to be a lovely dog.
Molly displayed fear when visiting our vet. She needed to be muzzled so that the vet could check her ears, eyes & teeth. We are not sure whether she is spayed. We are looking for an experienced home fairly close to our base so that she can return to our vet to be spayed if required.
Stanley is a 17 month old golden cocker. He is possibly part show type and part working type. His family are not able to give him enough time as work load has increased and they have a busy family life. He doesn't like being on his own for long periods of time. Stanley is good with the children. He loves to play with other dogs. He lives with two cats but he chases them and is probably best homed without cats. He pulls on the lead and is sometimes walked using a harness. He comes back to call when off lead most of the time. He travels well in the car. Stanley is living with the owner's Mum at present and has been sleeping upstairs. He is becoming a little protective of Nanny when people come to the door.
Fearn is a 9 year old lemon roan working type cocker. She has come to CAESSR from a working gundog home but now needs a home as a pet. Her owner is poorly and has moved to accommodation where he can't keep dogs. Fearn is a lovely gentle dog who has had mammary lumps removed and she may need to be house trained as she lived in an outside kennel.
Maisie is a 3 1/2 year old black & white springer spaniel. She needs a new home due to a change in family circumstances. Maisie is used to children but can be a bit timid when meeting new people. She is used to being the only dog in the home. She can bark at other dogs she meets when on walks. Maisie has no cat experience. She loves to play with her toys. She pulls when on the lead - mainly with excitement. Her recall is very good. She travels well in the car and can be left for short periods home alone.
