Dear John,

Gorgeous Katie sadly had a stroke two weeks ago and passed away peacefully in my arms. She was 15, deaf and a bit blind. We rescued her last year and we couldn't have ever imagined how a very active Springer Spaniel would enrich our lives . She was found abandoned in an empty house and taken to a local rescue kennel where she stayed for a few months. She was moved to the Cocker and Springer Spaniel Rescue, in June last year. From there we got her and we don't know if Katie was her real name or she was given that name at her first rescue place. So, every week she had a new name, most of the time it was just Silly Dog. We also used to call her Tete or Tutu. We thank her for all the fun, love, licks, barks, crazy walks, slobber, loud snoring and general springyness. Till the end she couldn't stop eating treats; such a Spaniel. We love you so much big ears...

John have you got the name of the previous kennel and any more information about the house where Katie was found (what county etc). I am writing an article about Katie and rescue dogs and I would love any further information.

Many, many thanks for rescuing her. She was so loved by my boys, we can't believe how gentle she was. Also she was a lovely friend to Laika our blind working Cocker.
